Schedules for 6-7 month olds?

I feel guilty posting a question on here because I haven't had tons of time to reply to all of the other great questions on here these past few months!

But I was wondering about the awake time for other twins this age. From what I understand the awake time around this age is between 1.5 and 2 hours. I feel like we barely get to 1.5 before the twins start to get super-fussy and ready to nap. I a wondering if it's because I have a harder time keeping them entertained and so they just get fussy sooner? If I had just one I could hold them and play for at least 30 min. after "activity time" but I can't really do that when it's 1 on 2 (unless I'm constantly picking up and alternating between the 2, which I do). I feel like I hear other moms whose twins are staying up at least 2 hrs. between naps. I feel like I'm doing something wrong?  Anyone else struggling with this transition in longer awake times and feel like it's an extra challenge with twins?

  • Absolutely yes. After 1.5 hours usually they (and me) are exhausted. Some days we make it to 2 hours but that's if I really push them. I try to always out them down when I see their sleepy cues and not wait til they're over tired. I don't have any advice, but you're not alone, mine are the same age and I'm in the same boat. Good luck!

  • I just saw your other post about the screeching and noticed our twins were the same age! Sounds like we are in the same boat with lots of things! Glad to hear we're not alone and it sounds like everything we're experiencing is normal...frustrating, but at least normal!!

  • Mine go about 2 hours. I really try to tire them out. I can so relate though about feeling sorry alternating between the two having twins is tough! My schedule is eat, digest, play, sleep- repeat 3 times till night bottle then bed. Mine just got their shots so they are crying and fussy. I try to alternate them between all the stations- exersaucer, jumper, play kick gym, safari mat and walker. In between singing and dancing and toys.
