Buying clothes for next winter

Dd is 2 yrs old 3 in June she is currently wearing a size 4 snow suit. Because she is potty training daycare suggested I bring a spare set of snow pants I was thinking about trying to buy a size 5 with hopes it might fit next year or should I just pick up another size 4?
I expecting another little girl this spring so I know I will get use out of it. Suggestions?

Re: Buying clothes for next winter

  • Once we hit the toddler stage, I've had good luck buying one size up for the next year. I do find that most snowpants and jackets tend to fit a little bigger though. Snowpants may be way too long to use this year if you go up to a 5. How does the size 4 fit now? How are the straps adjusted? How tall is your DD?

  • You know I completely forgot about the straps adjusting dds snow pants stay at daycare unless they need washed. She is about 36" now but has been eating like a horse lately so might shoot up... Maybe I will go with the size 4 most of her other clothes are size 3
  • I'd buy the 4s then. DD2 is 2.5 yrs, 32 lbs, and approx 38". She's in a size 3T snowpants. I think 4s would still be way too long for her.

  • My 3 year old is still cramming into her 2T snowpants.  It doesn't snow enough here to justify buying the next size. For next year, I will probably buy a 4T.

DD is just slightly above average.  I have found that she runs really close to true sized, once she hit toddlerhood.  I think a 5T would be REALLY big right now.
