I've been lurking on the board and posting some since October (I think), but have yet to introduce myself officially. I've never been on a message board until this one, so I'm still figuring out the etiquette.
My husband and I decided to try for number 2 in January 2012. We conceived in April, but lost the baby in May. It was really hard and I was so thankful for support from our family and friends.
We conceived again in August and I had my first ultrasound in October. My regular OB/GYN determined that we are having identical twins! She recommended an MFM who I have been seeing every 2 weeks since the end of October.
The girls looked great at every appointment until January 2 when they were diagnosed with TTTS.Thankfully, we only live 20 minutes from the Houston medical center. We were very lucky to see a surgeon the following day and to have the laser ablation surgery with 48 hours of a diagnosis. Both girls are the mend, although one appears to have developed a small intestinal tear which is causing fluid to accumulate in the abdomen. Thankfully it's not life threatening and my doctor thinks it may heal before the girls arrive. I am definitely praying it does heal.
I've been put on modified bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy. It's getting a little old, but I'll do whatever is best for the girls.
I hope this is a good intro. I've never virtually introduced myself before.
Re: Really Late Intro
Welcome (officially). I think I responded on one of your TTTS posts. I am also a Texan with TTTS survivors. Hoping your girls continue doing well and your LO's issue resolves.

Thanks! We have seen Dr. Bennington also. Their office has made us feel as relaxed as possible considering the complications.
We are having ID girls! We are very excited. We have 1 boy already, so we excited to learn about raising girls.
I am so glad not to be on strict bed rest. I think I would go crazy. If modified bed rest helps me avoid that, then I'm okay with it.
