My 15 month old hasn't grown any since 9 months old. Last week we had some testing done, but everything came back clear. My only concern is that he doesn't sleep and I'm afraid to stop night nursing because of his growth delay.
Our parent educator asked if she could talk to "some people, including her supervisor" about my concerns.
My mom who used to be a parent educator, told me that they were going to refer me to First steps because of his growth delay, I don't always believe my mom...
He doesn't have any developmental delays, just growth. So, I'm just wondering, if anyone has experience, or heard of First Step evaluating or something because of size only?
Re: First Steps b/c of size?
My DD has a rare syndrome and like you DS, she hasn't really grown since 9 months old -- she still wears mostly 9 months clothes. Anyways, we receive Infant and Toddler Services, which is the same as First Steps in MO. We do have a nutritionist on our "plan" which is called an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), because of Abby's lack of growth and eating earlier in life. So my guess is that yes, you can get an IFSP for just growth, because they have specialists for that specific area.
On another note, I'll have to keep your name, because we're moving to the St.Louis area, hopefully, by this summer!
Yes!! Do! I'm usually on Sept'11 even though I have an October baby
