passport turnaround time for kids?

anyone know how long it takes to get a passport for a kid? thanks!

Re: passport turnaround time for kids?

  • it was the same as for adults, you can pay expedited fee or regular fee and get it slower, i don't remember how long it took, maybe a month or so.

  • Standard turn around time is 6 weeks. You can pay to have it expedited in 2-3 weeks. We did that for DD and had it in under 2 weeks.

And yes, both parents have to sign off on it. If you both can't be there, there is a consent for you can complete but it has to be notarized.

  • We just turned in DS's application and were told 46 weeks, which is average. It only took 3 weeks to get DD's and we were told 46 weeks then also.

  • Same as it is for adults. We got DS1's 2 years ago and it took 6 weeks.
  • I think it depends on where you live too. I live in NYC which their office is usually busy. I just put that I need it a month later. I actually didn't need until 3 mos later but hey that's a question on there lol. I received it within 2 weeks, this was during late spring. Yes, both parents need to sign and be present at the application along with the baby.
