We're breaking all sorts of temperature records over here, and I have a feeling we're not the only ones, so I ask you: just how cold is it where you live?
It's so cold here that for the first time in the 4 years we've lived in our condo, we haven't been able to heat it properly. Even with the heat cranked up, we can't get past 18C (64F). Mind you it's not because of poor insulation, but our condo is open space, and with the mezzanine, it makes heating that much harder. At least we don't have a problem keeping the bedrooms warm. Can't wait to get my electricity bill :S
Re: How cold is it?
Ha Ha So true. The same thing is happening here. All of a sudden, -12C (aka 10F) is being considered "warm". Insane
-16C with a windchill of -27C so far today. Warmer than last Friday :S
If the wind would lay off I could finally get DD and my poor dogs out for a snowshoe.
You know something's not right when it's colder here (currently -19C feels like -30) than in Labrador.
You've got that right!
One day last June (or early July) Goose Bay was the hottest place in Canada. That was wacky. My mom who lives east of Toronto could not believe it. That's what I love about living here though. We get great (as in usable) winters and really nice summers. Short summers, but they're nice.
ETA: Sorry, meant to quote M.Ha
It is terribly cold here, compared to the average. I think we usually average with daytime highs around 40*F this time of year, which is totally bearable.
Instead, It has been in the teens and low 20's all week, and it's awful. I'm terrified of the electric bill, the heater has been working overtime
ETA: I do believe it's supposed to warm up and be in the 30's over the next five days. That's after we get 1-3 inches of snow tonight. UGH.
lols.
Shanado, I thought that was a southern saying? I'm impressed you know it!
Holy crap! I can't imagine it getting so cold they would have to cancel/postpone the races. Wow
Wait, do we live near each other?
