So my little one is only 4 months old but I have a cousin whose daughter is 5.5 months old and apparently she can sit, stand and even ride a toy horsey. I know I should never ever compare children to each because they develop at different rates, but I can't help but think I am doing something wrong that my child has no interest in doing any of those things. I love her, please don't think that I don't, but I just wonder am I doing something wrong that one child can sit, stand, etc and mine hates even laying on her tummy?

Re: Sad, but I know I shouldn't be
Sometimes I feel this way too because E hates tummy time and doesn't roll over much. I have never seen her roll from back to belly without help. But there are other things she does for example she loves sitting whether it's propped on one of us, on the corner of the couch, in the bumbo.
So maybe LO just wants to do something else. Every child develops at their own pace. My cousin has a LO 3 weeks older than E and there are things her LO does that E doesn't do and then there are things she does that he doesn't.
Don't sweat the small stuff, LO will do things when she's ready.
6 weeks is a big age gap when they are so young re: developmental things.
Have you actually seen the kid do these things? Not that your cousin is doing this, but some moms say their kid is "standing" when they stand them up on their lap. Or that the child is sitting when really they are sitting up against the couch, or something of the sort.
