Pregnant after 35

Hello

Hi ladies, I just found out that I am pregnant with my third!  I am excited and nervous.  I am now 35 and am wondering how this may impact my pregnancy, I was 30 and 33 at my last deliveries.  Anyway, I hope I can join you all on this journey!  I will have to figure out the ticker thing again!

  • Hello. I have a question for you. I will be turning 35 in a month and had LOs at 30 and 32. How did you decide to go for the third? This is where I am now. If I have another baby this would be the last year that I would consider getting pregnant. Sometimes I feel two are plenty but other times, more and more lately I feel like I would like a third. My DH wants another LO but says whatever I decide will be fine with him. Since we are the same age and had babies around the same age I was wondering if you had any insights? TIA
  • Welcome and congrats!

I was 34 with DS and I am now 38, delivering next week.  So far, the pregnancies have been the same.  I have had the same crappy symptoms at varying levels and also all of the same tests.

  • Hi there
Congrats on you new addition. Cant tell you the difference about the age because I didnt have my first until I was 38. It was much easier than I thought I was lucky. I will be 40 when this one is due

Congratulations! Assuming that you are otherwise healthy, being over 35 won't change your pregnancy and delivery at all. You may be offered more tests, but that would probably be it. 35 isn't a magical number. Good luck!

This exactly! Welcome, and I bet you will have a wonderful pregnancy!

Over-40 parents...what we lack in vigor, we make up for with cunning.
  • thanks for the warm welcome everyone!  I have my confirmation appointment tomorrow with my OB, so we will be able to discuss any additional testing etc. that may be warranted.

Lilles to answer your question, I wanted a 3rd, DH wasn't really sure.  We needed a little help with Clomid to conceive our 2nd, so for the 3rd I said we would not always prevent but not get the meds either.   We had a very fun family vaca in Ireland and I think this is our souvenir!  One thing I am glad of is that our youngest is still pretty young, so I don't feel like I am starting over, KWIM?  Good luck with whatever you decide.
