My perfect SIL would have handled a m/c better than I did.
She made sure I knew she would NEVER have a D&C. I went OFF!
"Well, maybe one day when you have the pleasure of miscarrying, you can do it much better than I did, I am sure!"
And I walked off.

Amelia has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. She has had 3 open heart surgeries, 1 g-tube surgery, and one tracheostomy. She is the strongest, most precious little fighter.

I honestly applaud you for not resorting to physical violence, because a b*tch slap would have been my automatic reaction. That's about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
Thinking of you -- and hoping you don't have to see your SIL for a verrrrrrrry long time!
When I am not completely crazy on hormones, I will make it very clear to her that she is not welcome in my home or our lives if she keeps up this kind of crap.
The way she brought it up wasn't so..to the point, she just randomly threw it in there. "D&C's aren't natural and she would prefer to let it happen naturally." She's perfect, so I am assuming it'll never happen to her. ya know.

If it weren't for the things you've posted about her before, I would have said that sometimes when awful things happen people don't know what to say, and say insensitive things by accident.
But given the context, I'm just going to say that your SIL is a b**** and a big ugly jerk, and if I were you I'd be giving her the cold shoulder for a long time.

Edit: also does she not know that sometimes a D/C is required to get everything out. Sometimes it doesn't happen naturally and you can go Ito septic and almost die? Like a really good friend of mine had happened?!? She is ok now, but it happens!
It's DH's twin brother's wife. He hates this because he has always been so close to him, but now he can't even look at them. We've always just laughed off stupid stuff that she says, but we both feel sick after this.

What a b!tch. I don't know how I would've reacted. I would've loved to slap a b!tch but I'm too scared of getting arrested. I don't know if I would've been able to say something or just choke up and walk away. Good for you for saying something!
I'm sorry you have to deal with her- and she's your neighbor- ugg! Do you own or rent? I would be so done with her. I would probably want to move and never talk to her again. If I had to be somewhere at the same time as her, I would ignore her. I would have DH tell his brother that she is no longer welcome in your home.
