Sen-sa-tive!!!

So my hormones are in full swing today!!!!

I realized at 12:30 that I had not felt the baby move all day, or at least didn't remember it because I'm super busy at work today...anyway I call my DH and say "I have not felt the baby move since 5:30 this morning what if something is wrong!!!" Here I'm on the verge of tears and he says "You have got to cut his out you can't worry about stuff like that the baby sleeps and you won't feel it 24/7, take a deep breath and stop overreacting...." I said ok and got off the phone and then proceeded to cry for the next 20 min.

Needless to say the baby started moving 10 mins. later and all was fine and I know my husband it right but man did that rub me the wrong way.

DH does not get what it's like to have LO inside you and feel all the moves. Only 7 more weeks until LO is here and I can share the responsibility of this babies well being. Now I feel like a bad mom ugh I'm going home eating a brownie and taking a nap....

Re: Sen-sa-tive!!!

  • Don't feel bad I am the same way and I think most of us understand. I am constantly in tune to whether or not I feel the baby move, for how long, when and if the movements feel different etc. I think my DH thinks I'm crazy more often than not and that I fuss and worry too much about the LO but men just don't understand! They always think all will be well and to just go with the flow but there's so much more to it than that. There's this huge responsibility on our shoulders to deliver a healthy perfect baby and to KNOW instinctively if something is wrong! I am counting the next 7 weeks down too so I can breathe a huge sigh of relief. In the mean time I still plan on obsessing about whether I feel my LO moving or not! LOL how could I not!

  • The fact that you care enough to get worried and cry means you're not a bad mom!  Also, we can't help but overreact at times with all these hormones surging through our systems. I tear up at least three times a day now over the most ridiculous things. And not feeling the baby kick all morning is a very unridiculous thing to get upset about, so don't be hard on yourself. And have two brownies. You earned it!!
  • Ugh...it must be one of those days.  I have cried twice today so far, over stupid things.  I totally can relate to the whole "not feeling baby move" situation.  It is scarey.  Your baby was probably moving but you were too busy to feel.  Relax and enjoy those movements tonight!

  • Thanks everyone I feel a lot better knowing I'm not alone!!!!
  • I had the same thing today! My boy is super active and so not feeling him from late last night up until lunch concerned me! I told my husband and he said the same thing that he was probably sleepy. I didn't cry, but I did go by a scoop your own candy place and that woke the little guy up nicely! I told my husband and he said I told you! I'm going to ban you from the bump! Haha thought you ladies might get a kick out of that!

  • It is ok, I have a super active little guy and when I don't feel him for a while, I start to get concerned. I figured out that if I lay my back for a few minutes it gives my LO room to move, and if I press on him a little he kicks back.
