So LO has been sick for close to 3 weeks, and I have had her into the Pedi multiple times, they keep saying its a virus, its going around and its NBD babies get colds and coughts....
Fast Forward to Monday I take her in and tell them I disagree and she is sick and they need to do something....Im told im over reacting.....
Tuesday I am still furious and call and get her into a new Pedi for a 2nd opinion......
As I type this I am sitting in the hospital with LO, she was diagnosed with not only RSV but Pneumonia. I am absolutely furious, needless to say. Hoping to be discharged tomorrow morning as she will be fever free for 24 hours tomorrow. They are administering IV antibiotics which seem to be helping.
I only wish I would have went for a second opinion sooner.....

Re: Furious at Pedi
You are your child's biggest advocate. Unfortunately pedi's need to be pushed sometimes. I hope she feels better very soon!

I hope she feels better soon. Our pedi told us DS had croup...we took him for a second opinion and he definitely did not. So, I almost gave my 5 month old steroids for nothing, just "a noise he learned to make." Ridiculous.
We switched pedis and I'd assume you're going to do the same! Don't beat yourself up...you did get a second opinion in the end and that's what matters. We're always second guessing ourselves as FTMS, so I think it's completely normal that you hesitated to doubt your doctor. I mean, he/she did go to school for 10+ years to know what they were talking about...
SCANDAL!
Sorry you have to deal with this. I hope your poor little one feels better soon.
