I'm having a csection tomorrow as I stand here at the store looking at all the giant pads... why can't I just do tampons after a csection? FTM here, with pregnancy brain in full effect...please don't flame.
TIA
they can cause infection - that's what i was told. you also won't want to stick anything up there or feel up to bending around to stick it up there for a while.
i'd just get one pack of the giant long pads and then a pack of the regular normal pads as well. i only wore the giant ones for a few days and now i'm able to just wear the regular ones.
they 'suck' out a lot of the blood and stuff when you get a csection so you won't necessarily bleed as heavy and long as you'd think.
i also have 'depends' as they sit high on my waist and they don't move around and easy to use!! SEXY i know....but i don't care hahah

This is the same thing i was told that you can get an infection. and The hospital gave me pads that were awesome! They were huge and did the job. But didnt have that huge pad feeling? If that makes any sense
The nurses said that even though you're having a c-section pregnancy changes the shape of your vag so a tampon wouldn't fit the way you're used to it working -- also it can introduce infection like PP said.
5 IUIs to get BFP w/baby #1 3 IUIs to get BFP w/baby #2 Lost baby #2 at nearly 12 weeks (D&C on 9/19/14)
Also you bleed way more than you would think. Those giant pads are a lifesaver. I was floored at how much I was bleeding considering babe never made it down the vag! You would be changing tampons every five seconds.
Yes, use the ones they give you at the hospital! I thought they were great. I only really needed the cow pads for a couple days - I am 2 weeks out from my csection and just wear a tiny liner now just in case.

PP is right, it's because of the risk of infection that it's a no-no just like part of the reason you can't have sex.
