  • It is freezing!  Ellie wouldn't walk to the car this morning.  She said it was too cold and her legs can't work.  It sucks but it will pass.  We have been painting and making tents.

  • Here's where I get most of my cold weather/indoor idea inspirations, in addition to pinterest. We try to get out at least once a day, whether it's going to music class, the library, Grandma & Grandpa's house, the grocery store, or the hospital (a block away) to look for babies in the nursery (a favorite in our house) and visit DH (his office is attached to the hospital).

  • My son's school had a fire alarm go off yesterday. They rushed the kids outside without their coats thinking there was really a fire. 5 year olds with no coats in this weather? Now THAT is cold! The poor kids froze outside with no hat, coats, etc. Turned out it was so cold that the fire alarm malfunctioned. Nice, eh? My son asked if he could wear his coat to bed last night in case he had to go outside again!

  • I feel your pain. In addition to the frigid temps DD, DH, myself and the little boy I babysit are all sick so any sort of play center is out of the question.

I hopped on Amazon the other day and ordered a blow up pool and a package of 200 balls- it's been a HUGE hit. I've also been pulling out some of the crafts projects I pick up out of the dollar bin at Michael's and JoAnn's. I also ditto the PP and recommend Play at Home Mom, they always have great ideas.
