DD usually wakes up at 8am. Today, she woke up at 5:30 and was whining for an hour before I brought her in bed with me. Even then, she still wouldn't go back to sleep, and then DH's alarm went off at 7:15, which ruined any hope of her snoozing for another hour. It has been a long day already and it's only 10:10
And she is probably going to want to go to sleep soon, and my MIL is supposed to be coming over for lunch. I know DD is going to get cranky when I try to keep her awake. Not fun.
As if that wasn't enough, our cat has decided to pee in a random spot in the basement. This NEVER happens, and he has done it twice in 24 hours. It smells so awful! DH cleaned it up, but needs to pick up some Nature's Miracle on his way home at lunchtime to get rid of the smell. I can't leave the house to escape the smell because he has the car, and I can't open the windows because it is 18 degrees outside.
Ok, sorry I just had to have a little pity party for myself. I'm feeling grumpy today. It doesn't help that DD and I haven't been out of the house since Sunday
Anyone have any funny stories to cheer me up?
Re: Longest.Day.Ever.
I'm sorry about your sleep woes, and not really sure what to tell you, but I think I may be able to offer a suggestion about your kitty.
My cat never peed anywhere but his litterbox. Like, ever. Until one day he started peeing all over the freaking place. In chairs. On bags. On the counter. In corners. On pillows. Like what the FU-!
After a couple of days of this I realized he didn't seem to feel well. His belly was all tender and he wasn't peeing very much when he did go, which was all the freaking time. He was obviously starting to feel a decent amount of pain. So we called up the vet and it took him about two seconds to diagnose bladder crystals and a UTI. A few more days and my poor kitty would've been really sick - like, he could have died. Whaaaat?
The vet gave us some antibiotics and told us to switch him to wet food. That was, like, nine years ago. He's still fat and happy these days.
Long story short, you may want to keep an eye on your kitty and make sure he's feeling okay.

Thank you, and I totally agree....the first thing DH and I did was go find the cat and make sure that he seemed to be acting normally. We are keeping a very close eye on him, as we know peeing/acting out are signs of kitty illness. The first time I was hoping it was just a fluke - he peed right next to his litter box - but now that he's done it again, I am a little concerned
Haha! This is exactly what we did! We called her with an order for lunch and deoderizer, and DH is cleaning up at this very moment.
All is well that ends well
Hopefully you get to catch a little snooze this afternoon
