Yesterday, I finally asked how I was measuring since no one has said anythign to me till now. Doc said I was about a week behind but that it is nothing to worry about but suggested an ultrasound just o be safe.
I know that is normal to measure +/- a week and I'm having a growth ultrasound on Friday to double check but I was just curious for those that were measuring a week behind. Did you catch up? Was your ultrasound normal? Also, I feel like it is so hard for them to tell the size of the baby at this point. So many people have siad they were told they had a large 9 lb baby but was born at 7lb. lol
Guess Im just glad we get another ultrasound since I haven't had one since 19 weeks! yay!!
Re: Measuring a week behind
When they first started measuring me, I would measure exactly as I should. At my last appointment I measured a week behind, but he wasn't concerned. I was still gaining the correct amount of weight and feeling the correct amount of movement. Every baby is different.. I'm sure you'll catch up. I think if you were measuring 3 or more weeks ahead or behind it would be something to be concerned about.
But ditto! Lucky you get another unexpected u/s! Enjoy!

I have been measuring behind my entire pregnancy. Measured 22 at 24 week, 27 at 30 week appointment. Happened to have an ultrasound the same day as my 30 week appointment, showed that baby was in 30th percentile and everything looked great. Brought it up to my midwife and she said that "measuring" is not very accurate, that as long as baby looks good they are happy.
Everyone carries differently, I am 5'5 and hubby is 5'6, you would not plan on us having a baby in 90th percentile. I am a nurse, so I measure myself at home lol...still measuring behind. Try not to stress about what you are measuring, as long as baby looks good and is healthy. That is awesome that you are getting another ultrasound, it is always great to be able to see the baby. Enjoy!!
I have measured 3 weeks behind since my first measurement at 24 weeks. It didn't really come as a surprise since I'm showing a LOT less than most women the same amount along as I am (like the women on this board). I've had several extra growth sonograms along the way. At 24 weeks, the baby was measuring fine at the 40th percentile. I had another sono at 32 weeks and her abdomen is measuring two weeks behind, putting her into the 10th percentile. I got sent for a special sono at the hospital which confirmed it, but also proved that there's not a problem with blood flow from the placenta or external stress factors. I do have to go back for weekly sonograms now just to be sure that everything stays on track.
My mom says both my sister and I were 6 lbs and change when we were born. I think some babies are just a bit smaller! I wouldn't worry, just enjoy your free ultrasound.
