Dyspraxia

So I'm starting to freak out a bit. DS is finishing up his 2nd year of SN preschool through the public schools. He will be transitioning to K. It has been a great experience but we are still without a dx. He still has developmental delay as his only dx. His main issues are fine motor significantly delayed gross motor mild/moderate delay with some attention issues sprinkled in. His OT mentioned dyspraxia as a possible dx. I took that to his pedi who referred us to a dev pedi. Unfortunately we are on the wait list which is currently 1 yr out. The school will be doing their own evals but I really wanted an outside eval to have in our back pocket for his annual IEP which isn't until June. Can anyone else dx dyspraxia? If your LO has this dx can you share who dx it and how it presented? Thanks so much!

Re: Dyspraxia

  • Thanks for the responses! Mobile bumping so bear with me. It is my understanding that dev delay will only cover his IEP from ages 35 here in CT. Does that sound right? If so does that mean we can use dev delay until he turns 6? I am so confused! From what I've been told if we don't get a dx other than dev delay then we may be looking at a 504 which is a whole different post .... again I am still trying to figure all this out. Thanks again, I really appreciate the responses.
