Infertility

ER tomorrow AM...

I triggered last night and will have ER tomorrow morning...I'm so excited and nervous that the time is finally here!  My doctor is hoping that we'll be able to retrieve 12 eggs.  Whatever happens, I'm just glad that we might get a better idea as to why we haven't been able to conceive in over two years.  I'm curious to learn about my egg quality, I wonder if there are other factors besides my endo and age that are affecting things.

Did any of you need to take the day off the day after ER?  My job can be pretty physical and stressful working in a hospital...I know I'll have a better idea tomorrow evening but still wondering how much time you needed to rest?

Re: ER tomorrow AM...

  • I had my ER yesterday and was back at work today (I'm a kindergarten teacher).  I had some bloating/mild cramping and that was it.

  • I was incredi ky uncomfortable the day after ER. I'm on my feet all day, but that day I was at a computer training thank goodness. I was sitting and I was pretty miserable. It was tough to pee and poop. This time around I definitely plan to take the day after off. If you can, I'd stay home and rest. Good luck tomorrow!!

OCPs again for IVF 2.5 mid-March. IVF 2.5 transferred two "gorgeous" 5-day blasts and BFFN. Even REI is baffled

Testing found positive cardiolipins/APS, now on lovenox and intralipid infusions
Transfer of 2 5-day blasts and (FINALLY) BFFP!! 1st ultrasound shows two sacs and two HB, but one is sluggish, almost expecting vanishing twin Subsequent ultrasound confirmed vanishing twin, but my other Little critter looks fantastic!

  • Good Luck with your ER!

I've never had a "smooth" ER, I've always needed 2-3 days post for recovery.  I think that's unusual thou.

I have asthma and a heart condition that generally make anesthesia yucky for me. For most patients my RE recommends the day of ER off work, and then if you feel well the next day you can return to work.

    Lots of luck tomorrow!!!!!

  • GL today! I took the day after off and I wish I had taken 3 days off because I was still very uncomfortable yesterday, even just sitting working at home. My ovaries were and are still pretty huge and they got 18 eggs, so that might be the reason, but I would have loved to sleep and rest more yesterday./

  • Thanks so much for asking this question!  I plan on taking the whole week off (Feb 11-15) as we don't know when it will be and my husband and I have to put in for time well ahead of the day.  Both of our bosses know what is going on and I told my boss I may be able to come in for 1-3 of the days that I was approved off for.  I'm just going to see how I feel and then see if my transfer will be 3day or 5 day and take it from there.  My RE said I should be fine the next day to go back to work (I am an assistant director at a day care but usually am able to work in the office for most of the day).
