Friends 9mth old sleeping pattern-help!

My friends son is 9mths and since he was born he has only sleep a few hours during the day for naps and then they put him to bed around midnight and he would sleep for 6 hours waking a couple times in between. Now he is sleeping from 10:30 - 6:30

My friend is exhausted and not sure where to go from here. If she tries to put him to bed earlier in wakes more often to feed.

Any advice for her would be great on how to get her LO to bed earlier and sleep longer.

    I'd like to know more about the day routine. When and what is he eating? When and how long are naps? How much is he eating during the night and how often?

    Without knowing anything else, my first thought is that he's overtired by 10:30 and that's why he's only sleeping until 6:30. The later my son goes to bed, the earlier he gets up.

    This. 10:30 is very late for most babies. And if he wakes to eat if he goes to bed earlier, then fine. At least he's getting more sleep, and she's getting more of a break.

    This! I couldn't imagine my son staying up that late! He'd be a mess.
