I'd
rather not put a metal gate up with a door and have it there all the
time (our kitchen is sideways to our living room- so it would be
attached between the wall and island bar & I want to be able to put stools there and use
the area still). Our BIL gave us the gate below and I was excited about
it- but I just measured the opening and it is 57" and this one only goes
to 51" ![]()
Re: Gates for Great-Room? Retractable?
We have a play yard that we slide over into our wide space. It's a 60 inch opening from the kitchen into the living room. I put the playyard up against the couch, then shape it to sort of fill in the space. (does this make sense? I can take a pic if not, I am sitting here working looking at it).
I saw this in the recs on Amazon, goes to 72"

I've been looking at this one but haven't gotten it yet. I want to have one that's easy to take down and move around to different spots as needed. This one supposedly goes to 60 inches although some of the reviews say not quite.
