I am starting to think about the big boy bedroom for ds. I know he might grow out of a theme quickly but I am still thinking about doing a themed room.
If you lo has a themed room please describe it. Bonus points for pictures.
I have a girl but she has a gender neutral theme. We did Classic Pooh. She has curtains, a lamp, and wall decals with the characters. I tried to add pictures, but for some reason it didn't work.
I'm such an AW but I LOVE to show off pictures of LO's Dr. Suess theme'd room! I worked hard on it. I did all the art myself, the fish are from party city. Here's my major AW!

We didn't really do themes - my oldest has a sports quilt because his carpet is a dark green and it was hard to find a quilt that would look good with it. We pulled colors from the quilt and painted the built-in shelves navy, the walls are the off white color, and when my two boys decided to share a room, we got a bunk bed and used navy for the quilt on the top bunk.
The sports theme doesn't fit (he's not into traditional sports like basketball, baseball, etc. but he loves tae kwon do) but he hasn't mentioned changing the quilt yet. He's more obsessed with the posters on his wall than anything I do to his room - current picks are Iron Man 2 and Avengers and for his birthday, we got him a really nice 24x10 picture of all of Marvel's famous characters and had it framed and matted, so I guess his theme is technically super heroes .

OMG Alicia that is so cute! That is a theme that will grow with him too. What pre-k and early school years aged child doesn't love Dr. Seuss?!? Awesome!
I think I want to do DD's new room safari themed but that's as far as I've gotten. I really need to start thinking about this.

If you do a safari theme, PLEASE get the Melissa and Doug Giraffe!!!!!!! I love it and would totally own it but it has no place anywhere in my house. haha

yes. The walls are cream with a red and navy blue horizontal stripe on the wall. They have twin beds (I have two boys), black, with a nightstand between and a huge captain america shield above it (centered on the stripe). Around the room, centered on the stripe, are framed pictures of spiderman, captain america, thor, and other various superheroes that I got from "artwork of the movie" books. I love it
oh, and alicia, i love it!!!
ETA: I don't have a picture, but it looks sort of like this except that the only stripe would be the one above the headboards, and there is a captain america shield and no animal lamp. Because my kids would break it.
I really want to do a big bed like a boat or something. The kind that sorta looks like a crib but with openings to getin and out. I cant post a picture of what I mean cause I dont know how though.I
The boys share a dinosaur room. It is painted a light brown with all the furniture and shelving/bins etc.. blue or green. Most of the stuff is that blue or green from Ikea.
The only thing that is dinosaurs is their bedding and a few wall hangings, so when they want something else I can switch it out and coordinate with the blue and green.
The nursery is the full on jungle babies one from one of the BRU brands. I forget what it is called. It has all the matching/coordinating stuff and the walls are a light yellow.
If we have a girl I will probably do a pottery barn nursery of something she can grow into. If it's another boy it will just stay the same.
She has a color scheme with some polka dots and her name on the wall as vinyl decals.
Minus the wall decals, this is us as well. I just mixed some patterns and textures in a cohesive color scheme. I am not a huge fan of "themes" because they can be outgrown so quickly and you are relatively locked in. If you go with an overall color scheme, it is easier to have a few accent pieces in the "theme" that are easy and less expensive to change out over time and as the child's interests change.
DS's room is firetruck/firefighter themed. He has one red wall and the other three are white. He has loved fire trucks/ firefighter since he was a year old. His bedding is somewhat kid-looking(that he might grow out of it) but the decor all came from Hobbly Lobby and is not really kid decor. He has this frame and several other pieces that match it. He also has a red wooden ladder on one wall.
DD's walls are all light pink. Her bedding is pastel colors with flowers and butterflies. Her name is on her wall with white letters and small white butterflies around her name. I have not found any other decor for her walls that I like.
We did a simple color scheme and added stars for the theme for now. One wall we painted navy blue and the other 3 a nice tan color. Red curtains, white furniture. It's something we can easily add to once he is in a big kid bed without having to redo the whole room. It could easily be transformed into a "sports" theme, nautical, etc. Whatever he is interested in in a few years.

that room is so cute! i love all the furniture!
When he was a baby he had animals as a theme. It was super cute.
Now hes just got a thomas the train blanket and some wall decals. But we are moving in the coming months so wasnt going to put any energy into it.
He really loves thomas, but i was thinking of doing a fireman room when we move.

We did classic pooh for his nursery, because it was neutral and we were team green.
For his "big boy" room, I wanted to do a sports theme, maybe incorporating snoopy and the peanuts cast, but I havent thought about it too much yet.
