while im on here.. birthday wwyd (XP)

So, DS birthday is coming up soon and im trying to figure out what to do for it. Last year we had a huge party etc etc. it was great but not something i want to do every year.

So this year i was thinking about doing a kids party, which would be for his friends and cousins at a local kid place here. The price is right and the date i want is completely open. They provided everything from decor to food to goodie bags. All i would have to get was food for the adults.

Ok so i was going to do that party and then have a party at home with our immidete family. So his grandparents, aunts uncles and cousins... the same cousins that would go to his other party. (theres 4). and the same aunt/uncle that came to his other party too.

The party i was going to do at home i was going to do a thomas theme bc well hes a thomas nut and thats really why i want to do a party at home too. And plus for his grandparents who would love to celebrate.

im just not sure now, since half the party guests from his home party would be going to his other party too..

what would you do?

  • I would just do one party, especially if you are inviting the same people to each party.

I'd just invite grandparents and everyone to the "kid party". Just do the Thomas theme at the kid's place. If you want to do something on the actual day with family I'd do a dinner or lunch with cake or cupcakes but no theme.

I agree with this. You can do cup cakes at home or out to lunch with Thomas the train toppers or something but there is no need for two parties. Can you incorporate Thomas the Train into the party at the kid's place?

Once we started doing "kid" parties (age 3), that was it. Parents and grandparents come along. At home we might do cupcakes and a special dinner, but it's not technically a second party.

This is exactly what we do also.
