Night Terrors???

Does your child have them??  My DD has had a few in the past but she has them Fri, Sun, Mon, Tues, and last night she had 2 back to back.  I am exhausted, frustrated and at my wits end for us all to get a good nights sleep.  I called the doc today and they were of NO HELP, they said all you can do is comfort the child, yeah I have been doing that.  I asked an older lady friend of mine and she used to put a rose quartz under her daughter bed at night and said that seemed to help, so at lunch I am going to get one.  Does any one have any experience with them, or maybe another old wives tale of what I can do????

Re: Night Terrors???

  • I seem to remember reading about someone that woke their child slightly before they would have one and that seemed to help. I don't remember how they would know when to though. I think it had to do with the timing of a typical sleep cycle. You could probably google it.

  • I have them occasionally, and found that shadows make them worse, because I'll think its a person bug etc.  We put a nightlight n the room when I has Ds and that seemed to help.  Dh also wakes me before I get to on worked up which also helps.  Also having a relaxing bedtime routine without too much stimulus or scary movies etc?
