  I love The Margate! I went about 3 years ago and have a friend that goes every year. They've made several improvements since I've been and I'm dying to go back. It's fun and relaxing there plus nearby activities such as a drive in theater, kelleher house for make your own ice cream sundaes, fun spot with go karts, restaurants, shopping.   We had our wedding at the Naswa down the street from the Margate and loved it at the Naswa.  Very family friendly and they have a great beach bar for the parents!

  We have a lake house about a mile or so from the margate. Its not the fanciest place but certainly family friendly. It is across the street from a shaws supermarket so you can buy snacks and stuff. It is right on the water and has a great beach and a sand bar is directly next to the hotel for wading. There is a little beach bar for lunch with the typical stuff. Its a great location... Near local diners for breakfast and about 2 miles or so from weirs beach! It has a pool and a hotel bar inside. If we didnt have a lake house then i would def bring my family there to vacation. If you need any more advice about places to eat or things to do feel free to message me and have fun! Oh... More advice , dont go during bike week, it will be far from relaxing! Also check louden speedway and make sure you don't go on a nascar weekend.  It is packed with nascar fans and everything is more expensive!

  I personally would not recommend the naswa for a family vacation. The bar is packed all day along the beach and although it is a younger crowd the party continues all day long, the margate is better for a family!
