Re: Brag Day Wednesday!

  • Baby girl is so close to rolling over, even the pediatrician was afraid to let go of her!

  • DD1 had her five-year well-check on Monday. She is a healthy girl! And brave -- she said she was going to be a "brave eagle" during her shots. Well, she still cried when it came time for them, but overall I think she handled it fairly well. The first thing she did when DH came home was to show him the marks from the shots, and we're still hearing "an eagle got hurt by a shot" around here every so often. :)

This morning when I dropped her off at preschool, I was talking with the director about options for DD2 and DD1 took care of all her morning routine (getting her things hung up, answering the daily question, etc.) by herself. The teachers had put out a new Toy Story puzzle (two of DD1's favorite things) and the kids were fighting over it, and I could hear DD1 saying, "We can take turns! We can take turns!"

She's also decided that she can put toothpaste on her own toothbrush, thankyouverymuch. And she does the prep for Elsa's toothbrush, too, so they can both brush their teeth at the same time.

  • DD outgrew her mic-key button. It is so tight and she is so uncomfortable with it that she has to get it switched out today - 3 weeks earlier than planned. She is also getting a double chin :)
  • Sir I used the correct sign language to tell me he wanted our dog to come in the car with us the other day.

Sir B got 90% on a spelling test with really good handwriting - he is being evaluated at school for OT help in handwriting.

  • Lauren only barfed once today! Fingers crossed for the rest of the day!

  • Two nights ago DS started taking steps in between DH and I! He will take two or three steps before his feet forget to move lol. DH is out of town for the rest of the week for work, and I am joining him on Friday for a long weekend away. As long and hard as we have all worked to help DS walk, I am begging him to wait until next week to actually take off walking so we can both be here. He is [thisclose]!

  • DS2 got new SMOs on Monday along with new shoes. About 1.5hr after dropping him off at the DCP that day she called me saying he had been static standing for 5-10sec at a time and she had seen him do it at least 5x. Granted she put him in the standing position but the fact that he maintained his balance for even 5sec is AWESOME!!  I am loving the combo of Botox and new orthotics this week!

That's awesome! Sometimes I'll feed DS extra snacks if he will just stand there balanced lol.

  • We got ds's IEP late last week, and while he has not shown as achieved any of his goals, he is making progress on everything, which is awesome.  He also has over 100 words and speaks in 2-3 word sentences, which means his speech therapy is making a huge difference.  We have a long way to go, but I'm very happy.

We took our younger niece for the weekend for the first time. She's 5. DS pretty much ignored DH and I all weekend. He was so busy playing with her. He had a blast. He shared his toys and took turns. We put an air mattress in his room and they stayed up until 11 ,when I finally told them to go to sleep since they weren't listening to DH. They were just talking and throwing toys back and forth because he was so excited she was here. He keeps asking when she's going to come back. It was awesome!

Hmmm, the thought of the bribe hadn't occurred to me yet. LOL

  • DD was really good with the urine sample bag and her blood draw today at her fist genetics appointment! She got to pick something out at the gift shop - just like mommy did years ago when she was brave!
  • My 5.5 year old with gravitational insecurity, who was too scared to walk up/down stairs until 3.5 or go on a slide on the playground until 4.5 can ice-skate!  She worked REALLY hard and she can do it.
  • After Owl's visit with bio mom, I asked her what she had eaten not expecting an answer but she looked straight at me and loudly declared Pood! as if I thought she had eaten a plastic dinosaur or something. She never replies to questions like that so I was shocked and elated.
