Bouncer and RNP question

Hi everyone,

I currently have the Snugabunny bouncer but I need something better for her to sleep in during the day when she's with me downstairs. I've been considering a RNP but wasn't sure if it would be worth it since she's already 6 weeks old. She doesn't sleep well in the bouncer and it hardly keeps her entertained and the pack n play. I'm hoping she'll eventually sleep inthe pack n play when she's older. Again, I've just been thinking about the RNP and wanted to see if you thought it would be worth it to get one :

Re: Bouncer and RNP question

  • It's totally worth it! I used it with my son until he was 4-5 months old. They are great for sleeping or just a safe place to hang out. It's also super light and portable.

  • Definitely worth it - it's fairly inexpensive and can be used until 4+ months. My son never liked his bouncer, but LOVES his RnP. He slept in it at night until recently and I still use it quite a bit during the day so he can be near me in the house.

  • The rock n play is great for sleep only.  If your baby doesn't like the bouncer, she won't like this either.  Maybe what you need is a more entertaining bouncer.

  • My daughter sleeps really well in her Snugabunny Rock n Play.  We are still trying to transition her to the crib though.  My daughter liked her Snugabunny Bouncer as well. But when she got older, we sold it because she liked to be more in the view of others and not low to the ground like the bouncer.  With the Snugabunny Rock n Play, she nows tries to sit up.  But it keeps her on her back, and she sleeps well in it.

And there was a notice about cleaning it, like you have to watch for mold and clean it.  But the cover is really easy to clean--you just take it off and wash it in the washing machine.

  • If you just need something for sleeping and that's what it sounds like - the rock n play is definitely worth it.

This is the new version that was released after the mold recall. I don't know exactly how it is different except it is more expensive but I am sure it is better. They're out of stock right now though, don't buy from a 3d party seller because they are more expensive and charge shipping.

Edit: The description says it is easier to clean.

  • Dd hated the bouncer and loved the rnp. I say go for it. We used it up to about 6 mos when it stopped being safe cause she tried to wiggle out. She slept in it every night until 4 mos.

  • With #1 we used the Fisher Price infant to toddler rocker and he LOVED it. He used it until he was 2.5 years old. It reclines back and vibrates a little. Its cozy and roomy at the same time. It is super light and I took it all over with me. He loved to nap and play in it.
