I'm not sure if you've had M's 9 month appointment, but I would ask your doctor. I know there are some ladies on this board who have already started introducing whole cow's milk. The standard answer is 1 year old, I believe.

I've heard to start the weaning process at 12 mo, as well as to be completely weaned by 12 months. We were given the okay to introduce wcm at 9 months. He might take some at dinner if he is thirsty. He has taken the lead by eating more solids and nursing less. It's about your comfort level and your ped's advice.
You may want to ask your Dr., but our said that the reason they say 1 year is because cows milk does not give a baby all of the nutrients they need. Whereas formula and BM do. So our Dr. said we could give some milk in a cup at dinner, but not to replace feedings with it.
Ok, thanks ladies. At our 9mo appt, the Dr said LO should see a nutritionist because of lack of weight gain (6mo - 13 lb something oz, 9mo - 15 lbs. even, no height change). I declined the nutritionist, saying I'd step it up with feedings, and go back for a weight check in 3 weeks. I read cow's milk should be after a year, but that doesn't really help me with the formula. Cow's milk doesn't replace formula...
So, I guess I mean when should LO only be eating solids/purees/table food?

That's more of the question I answered anyway. Some kids take their own lead and are weaning themselves towards a primarily solid diet by the one year mark. Some kids just begin that process at the year mark. I have continued to increase how often/much I'm offering with solids. Just like with bottles, you can't really force them to eat more than they want. At 6 months, LO was 15lbs. At 9 months, he was only 17.5lbs. From 9-10 months though, he took off on solids and ended up gaining over 2lbs just in that month alone. There's no rush, but if your worried about weight gain, then just make sure you're offering 3 solid-solid meals (hehe) a day with snacks in between each meal.
We do 3 purees a day and increase the amount as needed. We have cheerios, puffs, animal crackers (occasionally pretzels) with lunch and dinner. I'm trying to work towards less pureed more mashed foods but one is refusing and the other isn't too excited lol. So that's what I'm working on now with tiny cut up boiled carrots.
Around 11.5 mo we are supposed to start the wcm transition to be done by our 12mo appt.

Breastmilk/Formula should be the whole source of nutrition until 1 yr with food being a complement to it. After a year table foods take over, so I would continue Formula until she turns a year.
