Husband wants to get me a new ring for our anniversary. He lost his 2 days after getting it and mine was literally a 2 dollar silver band from Amazon, so we arent super attached to it.
How do you feel about rose gold and white gold together on separate rings?
Are real diamonds really that big of a deal? While my engagement ring is very modest in size, those 3 little babies will blind you. They are beautiful. Would CZ be obvious against them?
Im obviously not a ring connoisseur.
Re: Wedding ring opinions please
I had a cheap CZ engagement ring and I can't tell the difference between that and the real diamonds on my wedding band.
Can't help with the white and rose gold question. You should just stop by a ring store and put the two together and see how you like it.
As for CZ vs diamond I honestly can tell the difference. My diamonds are very high quality so maybe that's why.....not sure. I had a set of CZ rings I wore when PG because my fingers swelled up and they didn't sparkle like my diamond rings did.
If you don't care about diamonds why not get a band without any stones? I would suggest maybe a wedding band that has two parts, you would place your wedding ring in the middle. They sells tons of non stone bands like this.
I dont think I would love to different metals together but I agree about going to a jewelry store and trying on some ideas. That sounds like a pretty awesome day to me!
I dont think diamonds are a huge deal. It depends on your preference.I know I could never tell CZ apart from a diamond. I dont have an engagement ring at all, we eloped and just have a gold bands. For our 5 year anniversary we talked about getting something new. I think I am going to go for a band with a few rows of stones and wear that as an engagement/wedding/anni combo.
I don't know a lot about rings, but I do remember the jeweler who put together my ring going on a lot about the setting, especially the prongs that hold the stone. When I swelled up during pregnancy, I bought a CZ ring and after a few weeks could hear the stones rattling in their settings. (Granted, it was a $5 deal at Target.) Whatever kind of stone you wind up with, you might want to get the setting checked and tightened if needed.
Also, you may want to ask about how well the color holds on rose gold vs white gold. That's probably the not way to put it, but I just know that on the backs of my two white gold rings, they start to wear after a while. The one that sits out a little farther would start to turn slightly yellow where it was wearing. When our jeweler was still in business, he would clean them and redip them in something (rhodium?) so they looked like new. I'm not sure how common this is or if it can be done with rose gold.
