I just have to say my SO has been amazing the past few weeks. I am a SAHM and finally told him that I was feeling very isolated and that I feel like I am losing "myself" in the daily chaos. He works from home 90 of the time so I was spending almost all of my time with both him, Gator and the dog, who is still alive and kickin'....in a 900sq ft house. He said he was feeling the same way, and I had to take a second and see that he was either working or with Gator and I, but wasn't seeing his friends, going to the gym, or playing soccer anymore. In my own little world of pity, I hadn't even noticed he wasn't playing soccer once a week. It made me feel like a total bush that I hadn't even noticed.
The past two weeks, he has been awesome. He now gets Gator up in the morning and feeds her breakfast while I take the dog for a run. Last week, he met with some clients at a sports bar twice, so he would feel like he was actually going out and then went to soccer and out with his friends after. So he kept Gator this weekend, while I met with friends and then went out to Happy Hour. Our days home, he is trying to take breaks while working to either make dinner together or not take breaks so he can finish sooner and we can watch a movie after Gator goes down for the night. I have been sneaking out with Gator is napping to run errands or go grocery shopping, doing that without dragging a baby along is like a mini vacation!
And then last night he signed Gator up for swimming lessons twice a week, so we can get out of the house. And this spring she is going to be signed up for indoor soccer.
I'm so glad I said something, not only for the fact that this new arrangement is saving my sanity...but because in the process, I realized I was a bush for not even noticing that he was spending 100 of his time with either us or clients and he was losing himself as well.
Re: On a Testes Tuesday day...
Way to take care of yourself and say something and hooray for SO listening and responding.
You have a great little family, there.
