DD is outgrowing her original carseat, the one that snaps into the stroller. I bought 2 carseats, one for my car and one for DH's. DH installed them both facing rear. I feel like DD is squished because she cannot stretch out her legs. There is no other way to install, we have looked into it. I have heard a lot of people have this problem. My DD is tall to begin with. There is no way she can sit like this until 2.
Anyone have this problem? Any suggestions? DH suggested having her face forward but I think this is a huge no no. What do you think? Thanks.

Re: Car seat question.
DS kind of crosses his feet to fit rear facing. He doesnt seem bothered.
As far as rear-facing goes, I have a lot of friends who are on their 2nd, 3rd kids and have their kids facing forward at <2yrs old.
I may consider turning him around just before he's 2.
Kids are way more bendy than we are and don't get uncomfortable like we would. DD just finally outgrew the RF limits of our seat at 4.5. She would sit with her legs crossed, up the back of the seat, or tossed over the sides.
Unless your DD has actually outgrown the limits of the seat her legs appearing to be squished isn't reason enough to turn her around IMO.
Yea, I have a tall baby (34in) and an extremely tight backseat in my Jeep Liberty, so her legs are definitely squished- and they're going to be squished for a while.
I just keep telling myself I'd rather have her a little squished/uncomfortable, than with a potentially broken neck in an accident. So we'll just be dealing with it until after 2.
I wouldn't worry about it, if she's uncomfortable, she'll move her legs- prop them on the back seat, etc.

I really do not mean this snarky at all, but I really don't understand your question at all.
If I read it correctly, you have been using two infant bucket seats, which can not be installed forward facing. One in each of your cars.
You think DD is uncomfortable, but she has not yet out grown her infant bucket seat, is that correct?
Since you think she is uncomfortable you want to turn her around forward facing. But how? That's what I don't understand.
Are you planning on buying a convertible car seat? If so, why don't you just buy one with a wide rear facing weight and height range?
Well yes, we have been using 1 infant car seat for both of our cars. And yes I worry about her being uncomfortable. We probably should have moved her from the infant seat a few months ago because she has pretty much outgrown it. Can she fit in it yes but she really is too small for it.
I actually never said I wanted to face her forward so you might want to read more clearly. I bought two convertible car seats. I do feel like she does not have enough room but after hearing others nicely put responses, I did not realize she would cross her legs or that babies do not get uncomfortable like we do. We have only been using the seat for a few days. She looks uncomfortable and was just asking for opinions on what they thought.
Thank you to those who responded. I also think it is my car, like Mrs.Castillo, I also have a Jeep and it is tight back there.

Wow, um, next time you post I'll keep my mouth shut. As I said, I didn't intend my comments to be rude and I thought my comment was "nicely put" as well but from your reply I guess you took it badly. But as I said, I really didn't understand your post, so my reading was just fine thank you very much. It was comprehension I suppose I should have applied better. I'll keep the rest of my thoughts and comments to myself and remember for the future.
I misunderstood, I thought your inquiry was if you can FF a carrier seat which I dont believe you can.
I am just glad to hear my LO isnt the only still rocking the infant seat

Isn't the height limit for most infant bucket seats 30" or less? It seems like a safety issue that you've left her in there that long if she is "tall" and outgrew it a while ago. Not trying to be rude, but it actually surprises me you're even bothering RF with the convertible seat if you had your child in an unsafe (or at least unapproved) seat for a while now...
ETA: My DD is RF in an old Ford Focus. Her legs have been crossed since we moved her to the convertible seat when she was 10 months old, and no issues.
This. We stopped using the infant bucket seat almost a year ago, not exaggerating, it's probably been 10 months since he's been in it. She may look squeezed it but I think she'll be fine.
You are absolutely right. I probably did leave her in the other one too long because she is tall even though she fits the weight requirement.
