My friend lives in MD, she pays 130 a year for ballet class including costume and 40 a month for martial arts for her 5yo. The cheapest I can find in my area is 50 a month for ballet plus around 80 for costume and 129 a month for martial arts granted twice a week instead of once.

Re: S/I cost of living daycare martial arts
We pay $79/month for DS's taekwondo. He can go up to 6x/week if he wants.
We paid ~$125 for a summer swim team that was 8 weeks. He could have gone to practice 2x/day Mon-Fri. That also covered the 7 or so swim meets.
Gymnastics here is crazy expensive though. For DD (who is 3) I think it would cost over $100/week, and that's with me out there helping her through everything. So we just go to the park.
Last spring, I paid $380 each for DS and DD's swim lessons but that lasted a whole semester Jan-May an indoor heated pool. 30 min lesson, once a week. They did allow a monthly bank draft so at least I wasn't hit with all that at once!
DD previously took singing/dancing/acting class at the major musical theater in our area that I paid around $400 a semester for and it was 1 day a week for 2 hours with a theater performance at the end of the semester. The recital tickets were $15/each.
When DD was younger she did ballet/tap & soccer at the YMCA. Dance was like $75/mth for once a week. Soccer was $85/season. The prices are still the same on soccer because I just checked to see and found out DS's birthday falls just a few days past the age cut off this season.
BM pays for my SKs baseball/softball and that runs $145-165/season depending on the age of the kid.
Gymnastics at the gym nearby that DH's nephews go to is 50-80/month for noncompetitive 1 day a week classes and 210/month for competitive team 2x a week classes.
We live in a pretty LCOL area from what I gather from reading around the nest/bump but sports, ect. are serious business here LOL.
I love love love the Y because he can try a bunch of different sports and its all relatively inexpensive. He's doing swimming classes next and also wants to take cooking classes and arts and crafts in the future
When youngest SDs did dance it was about 60.00/month per child. They only did one recital. The costume was 40.00 each and tickets were 10.00 PP. BM and DH paid each paid every other month and split the costume.
They also did gymnastic which was about 120.00 per kid for 8 weeks of classes. It was really expensive times 2. I'm glad that is over. They do have 1 on 1 classes for 30.00 an hour that they attend when they need to brush up on there tumbling.
For now we have two season of cheer for two kids and football for SS which is 275.00 each season that we split with BM. That is 1375.00 (687.50 each) without competition fees, outfits, supplies, camp, and the million other extra costs.
My long drown out point was the cost above seems around what we paid.
I also love the Y.
We are members so it's 70 a month. My kids play sports for 35 for the season and my DD does dace one day a week for 43 a month.
