Shabby chic nursery

Is anyone doing a shabby chic or vintage look?  I don't know gender yet but plan to do neutral colors.   I am getting the Jenny Lind crib from target in white but haven't found a dresser or anything else.   Have you found anything for this theme such as furniture, bedding, decor?

  • I haven't taken photos yet, but...our daughters nursery is along these lines. the main colors being pink and mint green.

The walls are Sherwin Williams Frostwork with white beadboard on the lower half. We have the white Jenny lind, and a cream and white thin striped slip covered glider, but other than that, all the furniture in her room is vintage/antique. I painted the dresser pale pink and used crystal and brass pulls from anthropologie. I painted the book shelf and side table white and distressed them.

We made her bedding. The sheet is a rose print, the bumper for when she's older, its not safe now is mint green and white stripes, and the skirt is white with pink polka dots.

All of the decor was either hand made or found in antique shops or handed down from family. I found the fabric for the sheets first and that inspired the rest of the nursery. Look on Pinterest, that should help you generate some ideas! Have fun, I loved designing her nursery and now we love to spend time in it together!

ETA: had a wanted to do neutral colors, I would have just done mint green and white!

  • We did a vintage-y nursery, the colors are white, pink and grey (so not neutral colors). Here are some pictures...

  • I bought antique white furniture from a consignment store. Its gorgeous, unique and has the most beautiful nightstands I have ever seen. I have to look for a crib. We are having a girl but I can't stomach pink. We are going to do white, blush, gray, peach, taupe and a muted rust. BTW, I'm not that creative, I saw the color scheme on Pinterest.

  • My nursery is a light green with whit furniture. I bought the dresser for 40 at a second hand store. A little chandelier from ikea and I am hoping to get a second hand glider chair and recover it. I bought some flannelette fabric in floral prints for the bedding and some white wicker baskets... And white floating shelves I love how it is turning out.

This nursery sounds amazing! I just had to say that first.
OP I am doing a shabby chic nursery but my color scheme is lilac, pale blue, mint green, and white. I found the Tiddliwinks Cottage bedding that inspired it, though its been sold out and I haven't been able to buy it yet. Boo. Good luck with yours!
