My LO is breech. Anyone have a breech LO turn after 34 weeks? If so, did you do anything or did it just happen?
DD#1 was never breech - she was horizontal her head was on my right side and feet on my left - and then she was head down at 36 weeks. So, I have no experience and I really don't want to have a C-section.
TIA
Re: STMs (or FTMs if you have already had this happen) - breech LOs
Are you a FTM or STM? Typically, first babies move into the head down position sooner, but not always. You often hear of 2+ time babies turning much closer to labor. From my health professional, at 34 weeks you still have time for the baby to turn either way.
Also, check out spinningbabies.com for some exercises to encourage a head down position.
MY LO is Frank Breech right now. My Dr. told me if he doesn't turn in the next 5 weeks then I have to have a scheduled c-section. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this. However, my doula has said there are things that you can do to get the baby to turn. Check out www.spinningbabies.com
Thanks to all!
I am a STM - didn't know that the second may take longer to flip than the first. I am still holding out hope but want to see if there is anything I could possibly do to encourage the process.

This baby flipped breech at 39w and I had a version performed, which was successful! She's been head down since, thankfully. I agree not to really worry until 37w or so. There are natural ways to help baby, like PP said, spinning babies is great. There's also acupuncture with moxibustion and visiting a chiropractor who specializes in the Webster technique. GL!

My DD was breech at 34 weeks. Every week that I had an appt., they did an ultrasound. The next week she was head down, then the next week she was breech again, she switched every other week. At my 41 week appt. she was breech so I scheduled a c-section for the very next day. When I arrived at that hospital, she was head down and the nurse almost sent me home. After my c-section, my doctor told me that her cord was loosely wrapped around her neck so every time she tried to descend she would turn back around. I didn't not do any alternative methods because she was always back and forth.
STM here.
Had DS naturally. He was head down and engaged for weeks.
DD is frank breech and has been breech since 28 weeks. I have done everything...spinning babies, chiropractor, acupuncture... Baby is still breech at 38w5d. I'm scheduled for a CS this Thursday. I was not thrilled about this but I have come to terms with it.
My doc mentioned if a breech baby does not flip, there is most likely a reason. Like a pp mentioned..cord loosely rapped around the neck, restricting their LO. Some unknown issue and for this reason we opted out of the external version technique. It is just too risky.
