So I had to go into the office this weekend somewhat unexpectedly. Dh works every weekend so I brought my SS and DS with me.
We were chatting with a coworker when SS says "want to hear something funny?" My coworker says "yeah!" SS says "My mom used to sneak up behind my uncle J's back when he was little and push him down the stairs! Isn't that funny?" Then he turns to me and says "you know the kind of stairs we have at grandma's, they are really big." We kind of just looked at each other then he said "well this one is really funny we still laugh about it to this day, one time she grabbed him and threw him in the washer and turned it on! Isn't that funny?"
My coworker said "that actually sounds very unsafe." And I was just in shock and changed the subject.
FML.
Re: Awkward conversations brought to you by SS
Kids say the darndest things! I think the way your coworker responded was a good way to handle the situation. I really hope SS isnt planning anything of his own to do. The mentioning the stairs at the grandmother's home makes me think he may have an idea.

BM used to just let the boys wander on their weekends with her. Younger SS wrote a story in school about a time he spent at BMs when she let him wander to an abandoned house (due to mold from flooding) and he saw an older boy stab his brother with a knife.
That was a fun conversation with the teacher.
