Britax Pavillion 70 3g v Boulevard 70 3G

It looks like the only difference is the snuggness indicator. Am I missing something? I'm debating between these two car seats and cannot decide if the extra money for the Pavillion is worth it. I've also looked at the Advocate but that doesn't look any different than the Pavillion and is even more expensive. What am I missing??

Thanks!

Re: Britax Pavillion 70 3g v Boulevard 70 3G

  • I believe the only difference between the BLVD and the Pavillion is the click safe feature, which I think it a complete waste of money.

The Advocate has side impact cushions on the sides of the seat, which makes it super wide.

FWIW, if your child is tall at all, I would go with something else. :)

thanks.  Right now he isn't all that tall but DH is 6'3" and I'm 5'10" so I imagine he will be tall... he was a preemie so he's still catching up.  hmmm any suggestions?

ETA- I just saw the post below.  I'm confused though, the car seats listed (and I didn't get to look at all of them) only seem to have an inch more height allowance than britax.  I'm a FTM so I could be missing something though...am I?

  • Do you know about how tall he is now?

The biggest issue with the newer Britax seats, is that the shells are a bit shorter than the older models (like the Classic Marathon still sold at Target), so they are "sometimes' outgrown earlier. It also depends on how long you plan on rear-facing. I plan on rear-facing my son to 3, and he probably won't make it to 3 in our new Britax seats. I think he has about 1" of growing room left, and he might reach that before summer. My son is about 35" tall, has a 14" torso and is 2.5.

On the other hand, my daughter is going to be 5 Wednesday, and still fits rear-facing in her Classic seats. She is 40" tall, but I am not sure on her torso.

Other seats that are good for taller kids are the Graco My Size 70/Size 4 Me 70/Headwise 70, Diono Radians and the Clek Foonf.

  • Ok now I am looking at the Recaro ProSport. I've read that they have great reviews in baby bargains... and fit a child 27 to 59 inches tall and 20 to 90 pounds - Booster Usage: For a child 27 to 59 inches tall and 30 to 120 pounds

This may last us the longest right? I know they are a European company... any input?

  • He is 7.5 months old [he was 2 months early though so he is on the scale as a 5.5 month old] and weighs 16 lbs and is 26 inches tall.

I addressed this in the other post, but in case you don't see the other one, the ProSport is a forward facing only seat. I own one for my 4 year old and love it, but not one that you want on your list right now. :)

The ProRide is their convertible, and offers virtually no leg room.

I just sent a request... I really appreciate all of your help. I feel so clueless about this! We don't need his new carseat this second but with the amazon mom deal going on I figured it might be a good time to buy since I've never seen the prices this low with the discount.  We have his infant carrier and he will fit in that for a little while though so I'm wondering if I should skip convertible and go to the bigger combo seats since he will be over 20-25 pounds by the time he needs it.  I have no idea though... there are too many choices!

I am in the same boat! LO is 6 months so I have a bit of time but want to get the best deal. Can you just tell me what you get and I'll do the same? LOL Jk, but really I'm not sure.

I went with the complete air 65... I got it on Amazon with the mom deal for $97! that is not why but when I compared it to the other ones I realized that it would actually fit DS longer and was cheaper than other options and I saw it in person and it seemed really soft and comfy.  We will get it in two days so I'm going to put DS in it in the living room and see if he likes it or if I have trouble getting it in either of our cars. We also got one for my mom so it was a really good deal since we had to buy so many of them!
