anyone else birth a hercules?

I need advice from any other moms who have a kid that thinks he/she is hercules

This kid is tossing toys around like they are feathers even his alphabet cube which I figured was  heavy enough with a wide enough foot print to be nice and solid.. he just pulls it over like it weighs nothing.  It's making it hard to find toys to assist him with walking because nothing is grounded enough and even the chicco one with rubber stoppers and grippy wheels just  falls over.  I need something that is  light enough to move easily on wooden floors but heavy enough to move slowly and can't be tipped or pulled over...

anyone got any recommendations? I'm about ready to build my own at this rate.

  • I think you just have to ride it out and kind of "be" the assistance that you need for awhile. A few weeks ago, I was complaining about the same thing-- that the wheels on the walking assist walker thingies spun way too fast and that I needed something with more resistance. He was standing up against stuff and just pushing it out of the way rather than using it as it was intended (which he still does, don't get me wrong!).

Fast forward to now. He gained a ton of stability in walking in the last few weeks and he CRUISES on the push walker now. He has wayyyy better control. That being said, he still uses his massive piano and activity table as a push walker and anything else that will slide but, luckily, that stability helps there, too. Yesterday I bought him a kiddie chair from Ikea and this turned out to be one of the best push-to-walk assisters yet!

Can you maybe pick up a couple of cheap floor runners so he has a little carpet to slow him down?

His deluxe baby jail has carpet and foam padding and it doesn't help he literally just tips everything over. It's becoming a 2 man job to diaper him ..even my MIL said she's never ever had this much trouble diapering a kid before and DH's big brother was a runner at diaper time.

Have you seen the new commercial for pampers cruisers?  It's a whole few minutes of babies pushing things around their homes, chairs, ottomans, etc...your little one could apply to be on tv!:)  I hope that you get some encouragement/answers that you need.  I don't have advice necessarily, but your post just made me think of what I saw yesterday.
lol..I sometimes think I'm gonna come home and find the whole house tore apart.
