Yogurt

Is it safe for baby to eat half a container of baby yogurt in the morning and the other half later that day? I am going to err on the side of caution and not feed it to him unless I can find someplace that says it is safe, but I am curious. (I wasn't thinking this morning and started feeding him straight out of the container.)

Re: Yogurt

  • Well the package says to refrigerate after opening..so I assume you could open it, use have, and put the rest away. Elliot always eats an entire container, but if not Id put it in a small ramekin and cover it with plastic to givin the fridge. And I'd use it with in 24 hours.

  • I always dish out half so I can save the other half if she does not eat it. I would err on the side of caution and throw it out if her saliva mixed w it. Sorry I know it's annoying I've been there!
  • I will toss this one and try to remember next time.

I'm sure he would have eaten the whole thing if I let him, but I am always worried he is stuffing himself too full. He spits up a lot, especially when he overeats, and his little belly just feels so full. I kind of feel bad not feeding him until he he clamps his mouth shut (like the books say he will when he's full), but it just doesn't seem like there is any way possible that he could keep down 6 oz formula, half a banana, and a whole container of Yo-baby all at once.

  • I agree w you. I think the yogurt is v big compared to other thing I feed LO so I always just give her yogurt and water when I give her yogurt. I don't think I would let my LO finish yogurt w a half banana either.

At other meals I will give a veggie and a banana.
