This group is open to anyone who has Diminished Ovarian Reserve or Premature Ovarian Failure (sometimes also called Primary Ovarian Insufficiency ? POI).

This check-in will be posted each Wednesday. If you?d like to be added to this group, please reply to this message, and I?ll make sure to add you for next week. Welcome to the lurkers! We know this can be a difficult journey, but we welcome you with open arms. Let us know if we can answer any questions.

I had my 2nd monitoring appointment today. 3 measurable follicles with a few smaller on each ovary. For me that is good for 7 days on stims. I will go back on Friday.

QOTW: I love to read and yes, I watch far too much tv. But it is my guilty pleasure and I don't foresee myself stoping any time soon. I do go to the gym 3 or 4x a week so I justify sitting on my couch eating bon bons (not really but sounds good)! watching my reality tv shows!

Hey Cee! How are you doing? Did you have your u/s? Sorry if I missed your post about it. Embarrassed

Meds are ordered and on their way, they should arrive today! Med review Tuesday of next week. I start patches on Sunday, Ganirelix monday, tuesday, wednesday (she said these are easy, just like trigger shots, so we're doing them before med review).

We have a calendar now and estimated ER is Feb. 6! (though, that's with only 8 days of stimming, knowing my stubborn ovaries, it might take more).

I know it's hard when you run a check in to come up with knew GTKY questions. Sometimes when I got hard up for ideas I'd just ask people to share a funny GIF or an inspirational quote or something like that!

Hi all!

Just got back from the doctor. Ultrasound shows 7 follicles between 12-16mm and maybe 1-2 hiding. I was scheduled for ER on Friday, but the my follicles are taking their sweet time and probably won't be ready until Sunday or Monday. I'm excited about 7, I was expecting less.

QOTW: Cee, I'm with you. I watch way too much tv, anything from The Bachelor to Sons of Anarchy. I do enjoy puzzle though.

I had my ER yesterday and we retrieved 7 eggs. I just found out 6 fertilized! I am in shock, this is way better than I was expecting.

QOTD: I am a huge reader. I can't keep myself in books so I re-read my books often.

I'm still on lupron but stopped BCPs. I'm waiting for AF to show, and I have my baseline ultrasound and labword Friday morning. I'm not sure if AF will be here on time, but I guess the nurse says it doesn't matter. I'm not sure how I feel about an ultrasound while on my period, but oh well - ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I don't watch too much TV, but I'm guilty of having it on before I fall asleep. I record the Real Housewives of Anywhere (guilty pleasure) and always like to catch up on those. I tend to fall asleep to King of Queens.

Hi ladies. GL to everyone with upcoming cycles or tests!

Update: my u/s on Monday showed nothing in there. I suspected as much. I had a low beta to begin with, and although it doubled appropriately, I never FELT pregnant. Like at all. So it was definitely disappointing but a fairly easy recovery. I cried pretty good and then cleaned myself up and it's time to move on. I don't know what it is though, you know? Like was I pregnant and did I miscarry? Or was I never pregnant to begin with? LOL, it's such a new concept to me I don't know what you say. Oh well. We have 2 more tries so hopefully we will cycle again soon. Just waiting on AF.

QOTW: I think you all see what my "hobby" is. Ha! But like Julie, I work out quite a bit and run and hike with my dogs, so I don't feel incredibly horrible when I spend 6 hours in an evening watching my shows. Well, most of the time I don't feel bad!

My meds have been ordered and they should arrive tomorrow! I will be taking clomid and 450 iu of gonal f. I'm so nervous things will go poorly like they did last time

As far as hobbies I love to read but I also have my bad tv shows- like teen mom. Not sure why I subject myself to it!

I have my own bad news. My donor bailed today in the middle of stimming. No reason was given. The clinic is scrounging trying to get me another donor who doesn't have a 2nd recipient already and is currently stimming since I'm already on estrace and lupron. DH doesn't want a donor if she doesn't resemble me but I won't go through this again. Of course there isn't someone who resembles me right at this minute..We pick who they have tomorrow or we're done forever..CFNBC. I was totally blindsided by this. Who quits in the middle of stims? I cannot make this stuff up... I cannot believe it has come down to this.

Cee....So sorry to hear about your loss. McIrish....I cannot even fathom how devastating that must be! I am so sorry to hear this, big hugs to you!

Update: We had our WTF and my RE wants to run some other new tests on me such as fragile X, blood karotyping, etc. We are kind of in limbo on what we want to do at this point, try IVF again, move toward adoption, or live child free. We are doing some major soul searching.

QOTW: I work fairly long days and am also working on my doctorate, so not a lot of extra time. I do have a couple TV shows that I love, and DH and I love to workout:)

Bumping mobile from out of town so I'm late to the game. Ceemonkey and Mrs McIrish, I am so sorry for the news you got this week. I know I'm a total newb but I'm thinking of both of you.
AFM, I got a bfn today and am cramping a lot so I'm expecting to have my baseline US and labs Friday or Monday. Genetics appointment is next Thursday.
For hobbies I mostly read. We're running out of space for my books so I'm starting to switch over to ebooks. I enjoy some crafts, like making wreaths or holiday decorations, and am also learning to sew. I have a few tv shows I like but not many.

Cee and McIrish -- I'm so sorry that you're both dealing with such craptastic news! You've both been through so much already and this is incredibly unfair! Big (((hugs)))

Update: I've been MIA for quite some time -- was in a rough patch after August's BFN. Got my head out of the sand and saw a new RE in Nov -- he specializes in DOR/poor responders and (unlike my prior RE) never mentioned DE. He thinks we still have a good shot with my OE and said that, if not for DH's azoo, he'd have us try some IUIs instead of IVF. He's a big proponent of low stim cycles for DOR/AMA. Definitely gave me a bit of renewed hope. I was supposed to get started with another IVF cycle right away, but the nursing staff realized that I had never had a SHG after my miscarriage/D&E (former RE never mentioned it, which is unfortunate b/c I had plenty of downtime btwn m/c and last IVF). The SHG showed scar tissue -- due to holidays and AF, I couldn't have hysteroscopy until 12/20. So, my ute is now all "tuned up" and I've started another IVF cycle.

Started stims on 1/13 and go in for my 2nd monitoring appt tomorrow. Since I'm on such a low dose this go-round (they've bumped it up a bit since starting), I'm sure it will be slow going. A bit nerve-wracking to be on low stims/antagonist protocol since high stims/antagonist have failed me in the past -- but, I'm trying to remember that this is a completely different approach and my RE has had lots of success with DOR women. FX!

UPdate: we retrieved 11 eggs this morning and hoping for a good fertilization report in the morning and a 5 day transfer. Sofar we've only had 3 day.

In my spare time I am obsessed with Irish dancing. I teach it, perform myself and love to watch it on YouTube. Unfortunately I can't dance right now due to swimming but I've been looking for music and working on Choreography for upcoming performances.
