My 3yr old stopped STTN

What is happening? My 3yr old DS all the sudden stopped sleeping through the night after we had DD. First I thought it was because he was sick but he is better and still waking up. Usually I go in his room and he just wants me to tuck him back in, other times he's having bad dreams or not really making sense but I'll kiss him and he goes right back to sleep. The obvious frustrating part is that I'm already waking with a newborn and sometimes DS will wake up 4 times a night and DD only once! WTH?

I have tried shortening his afternoon nap and that hasn't helped. Even the days he gets no nap he still wakes up. I am at a loss. Any suggestions? I need sleep!

    My nearly 4 year old has been waking up more than before we had DD, too.  I think he's still getting adjusted to having her at home.  I'm hoping it will quit soon.

    Maybe it's his way of reassuring himself you will still come help him? Hopefully he will get over it soon ;( I had an issue with DD at first waking at 5 am and screaming for me to come in her room to dress her. She also would yell owe my foot! So we would go in there. It stopped after a few weeks.

    This us a typical response to the stressful situation of a new sibling. My fiveyearold has been doing the same thing. Give it some time he's working through his stress and frustration and the difficulty of acclimating. Just give him lots of hugs and kisses.
