Sleep issues - help!! (14 month old)

My son has never been a consistently great sleeper - but he was substantially better than this!  He has gone through phases of sleeping all night (11-12 hours), but tended to wake up 1-2 times most nights to nurse.  It wasn't my favorite thing in the world, but he's nurse and go back down.

Now, he's up, and he STAYS up - won't go back to sleep.  He's up 2-3 hours every night - only calm if we're with him, rocking him.  Any ideas or suggestions?  Prefer not to have him CIO.

    Sounds like sleep regression- it happens around the time they hit one.  You could try sticking it out for a few weeks, and if he's still doing it, try No Cry Sleep Solution.

    Our DD did that at 15 months; after 45 min to 1? hours I'd give her a pain reliever and she'd be asleep within 20 min of whenever I gave it to her --- I attributed the wake ups to molars, and sure enough after she cut her 4th molar at 17 mos she went back to sleeping readily.
