Stupid sippy question

Hi I have 2 kinds of sippy cups for my lo.  One is a nuby 2 handled silicone spout that's sold in a 2 pack.  The other is a nuby with a straw.  Both are difficult to suck anything out of for me so I don't see how my lo is going to learn to drink from either of them.  I know that I can remove the valve/stopper but I can't figure out what part that is at all.  Please help.

  • You can't remove the valve/stopper on these cups, it's built into the spout or straw.  LO has to bite (put pressure on) the valve as they suck to get the liquid out.  DD figured it out pretty quickly and she never took to using a bottle at all.
