Ear/Throat Infection

DD has come down with a throat and ear infection :(

We started antibiotics this afternoon and she's perked up a little already. Because of this she hasn't had much to drink. The Dr said to keep pushing fluids and offer pedialyte if she wont drink anything. If your LO has had an ear or throat infection how long until you saw an improvement?

Its been a long couple of days.

Re: Ear/Throat Infection

  • All my boys have crappy ears and tonsils. Ds3 gts his ear tubes Friday thankfully. Anyway usually 36-48 hours on the antibotic and we see a difference. Did they put her on Amox? If so you might be back at the doctor in 7-8 days. Most everyone I now who had babies with EIs were put on Amox first and it did nothing. Even my pedi warned me with ds1 that the Amox might now work but that it's the first drug they do. I'm sorry she is sick. I hate EIs.

  • Thanks. We were given Amoxil. I hope it helps. My Dr has us in on Thurs to follow up. I am having the worst time getting any food or fluids into her! The ear throat combo is really causing havoc with her eating schedule.
