It's taken me more time then I expected to be able to sit down and announce that I had my little girl on January 10th. She was exactly 3 weeks early and the labor and delivery was VERY fast. Other then my doctor telling me the week before that she thought I would go early I had no indication that she was coming.
January 10th I woke up in labor 5:30am and was already at 5-1-1. Timed contractions for 30 minutes before I woke up my SO at 6am. He called the hospital at 6:15am and by the time they called back my water had broken. They told us to come in but no need to rush (HA!). I continued to pack my bag and get ready through contractions that were piling on top of each other. Then I started vomiting and knew that might mean I was in transition. So we rushed out the door at 7:15am. By 7:30 am we arrived at the hospital. Luckily my OB started her hours at 8am so she arrived shortly after the nurse got me into bed. She checked me and I was already at 8-9cm! No time for an epidural. My OB rushed off to change into her scrubs. 8:30am I started pushing and by 8:59am my perfect little Evelyn was born in an all natural birth! A total of 3.5 hours from the time I woke up until she was born! Being a FTM everyone was shocked.
Being 3 weeks early she was very small at 5pounds 5oz. but she is doing amazingly well. Breastfeeding took a few days to get right but now we are doing great. I am absolutely stunned by the fact that I have almost lost all of my pregnancy weight!
Its been an amazing two weeks and I still can't help but cry when I look at her perfect little face.
Best of luck to all of you with your upcoming births. I will be on here as much as I can.
Re: 3.5 hour birth story (PIP)
She's so beautiful! CONGRATS!!!!!
She's precious! Congratulations!
Wow, congratulations! I love everything about your birth story, from the surprisingly short time, to the all-natural route, to even your daughter's birthday! (hehe, my bday is January 10th too, and I've always thought of it as a great time to have a birthday - so many people don't have anything to look forward to after the holidays, but I enjoy knowing something else is just around the corner!)
