Am I allowed..

To call my child the spawn of the devil. Lol

She started on her crying jag at 7pm last night and it went until 3am this morning.  Part of it was from gas pain and trying to pass poop, which she still hasn't done.  And the rest was her crying and screaming, falling asleep for 10mins then wake up and starting all over again.  On on crying jag she fell asleep and woke up because it was her feeding time Lol.  She finally fell asleep at 3am and via think it was only because she was to exhausted to cry anymore.

I'm talking her to church to have her exorcised.  Lol

Re: Am I allowed..

  • Hehe, yes you are. Just remember, that means you or SO are deamons though. Let me know how the exorcism works ... we've gone the mylicon gas drops route and will be trying the Hylands Colic Tabs next.... spelling might be incorrect.

We've been calling our LO "evil one" and or "deamon spawn" since before I was pregnant. At 6mo in the pregnancy, my parents were telling me we needed to pick a name and not call her "it" or "little gal", I asked if they prefered our other ways of refering to her ... they did not care for them either. I find them perfectly acceptable when said lovingly.

We were a tad tempted to give her a name witb the initials DS or EO but nothing stood out that started with those letters for us.

Hope you can nap with your LO today and the mood has improved. DH was up with my gal from 9:30pm until 3 am or later this morning for similar reasons. She'd fall alseep after screaming her head off for a while; would get gas moving through the intestine which would rewake her up. Not fun and he normally is up at 5:30am.

  • At least it was only the one night! Our LO has a nightly "reset" period from 11p to 2a where he screams/cries non-stop. Won't eat, clean diapers, walking/rocking doesn't work, nothing... thankfully its slowly moved up to start at 8:30p and only lasts about 30 - 45 minutes now.

  • I think we had the same night last night.

  • When my (now 2 year old) daughter had colic, the only thing that quieted her was turning the tv or radio on a staticky channel and turning the volume up. She'd be quiet and just look at the tv. Worked every time.

  • I've been reading about the 'witching hour' and it totally fits us. Around 6pm each night she gets fussy and cries and needs to be held to settle down. It's nothing else, just the need to cry.

  • Baby A earned herself the nickname "the beast" the first few weeks we were home.  I'm happy to report she's grown out of it and is a super happy baby now (unless she's hungry..then watch out!).  Also, gripe water has helped us tremendously!

Bought baby gripe water this weekend, to work like a charm on her gas.   Now need to help with the bm pain.  My mother and others have suggested kayro syrup, but I think I'm going to ask her pedi about adding a little bit of kids apple juice or prune juice to her formula instead.
