Bought a bottle of wine

So DH and I were in Bed Bath & beyond today, I found a totally cute lenox ornament on sale super cheap so I was going to buy it, profile santa with a 1/2 moon, then realized it said baby's first Christmas...oh never mind, as we are checking out the lady says oh here is a coupon for our sister store just opening Buy Buy Baby....Really two baby references in less than 5 minutes? Still sad that the last IUI didn't work, so

i bought a bottle of wine called Cupcake Red velevet, had a sip the other night when I was still holding out hope for a bfp, decided today a bottle will do!

I wrestled with whether or not to buy a bottle of red wine last night.  I already knew better but still googled 'IVF alcohol' which of course said that it could affect egg quality...I just needed something to talk me out of indulging one last time.  Every month that I got a BFN especially after IUI, I bought a few bottles of wine.  Enjoy and hopefully this is the last time that you will have to deal with disappointment!

Snapdragon I hear ya, I haven't drank in almost 16 months, had a SIP of someone else's in that time, but I haven't drank. Sigh, it has been very hard coming up with new reasons to tell people why I am not drinking...only my online friends know we are ttc!

Cheers to, 'Us,' ladies.......  I haven't had a drink for a couple of months, as I have been prepping for what's to come.  I just finished the last of my tests that the RE told me to do, I just had the SHG done and some blood work, a couple of days ago......we are scheduled to see him in two weeks to get the results and where he sees us going in this fertility journey.

The day of the test, the radiologist told me that I have an Unicornate Uterus, which I about fell off the table, A what?  She continued to tell me, most people can still have babies with a smile on her face.  I was very upset to say the least, now realizing that is probably why I always miscarry and haven't gotten pregnant in over three years.......not sure how to feel,  so I had my first glass of wine last night.  Couldn't cope, so I enjoyed a nice glass of red wine and just breathed.....  Ugh.....sorry for my rant.  :(

Thanks, Heather.  Sorry for the rant.... I was just really taken back and have never heard of this abnormality.  I guess it is pretty rare???  I don't know much about it, as of yet, just what I have read, so far.  The radiologisht kept saying, you have a unicorn and I was saying, 'What, I have a unicorn for a uterus?'  What the hell..... Lol....  I was just a little embarrassed to say the least.....  :S  Have you ever heard of a Unicornuate Uterus?  They just say that there is a higher chance of miscarriages and not being able to carry to term.  They say, I only have 1/2 the size of a normal uterus, so it hard on the baby to grow and stay full term...sigh.

Yes,  I hope that we can figure something out and I will get ku.  I did a little research about it, but no surgery options are available but at least we know what we are dealing with....and hopefully, get a good game plan to move forward.

I will see my  RE in a couple of weeks, so I just have to sit tight...ugh!  Hopefully, I can find some other women that have been dealing with this and give me some insight.  I have looked on here and a couple of sights, so, I am getting some info, thank goodness.

On to better topics, Happy Birthday to your DH!  Hope you enjoyed a nice dinner together.  Yeah, that sucks when the gift that you want to give him doesn't  arrive on time.  I am sure you made it up to him!  :)

I am glad to hear that the bottle has made it for the next time.  I wish I could have done the same thing, but it was only two glasses for one night, so I am feeling ok about it.

Thanks for letting me ramble....and, hope all is going better for you.

     Take care.

Ramble anytime :) I wikipedia'd your issue and it does seem on the rarer side, but it also did say that many women have healthy pregnancies, and you will be one of them! I know its wiki not 100% reliable but they aren't 100% worng either!

best of luck, and two glasses won't hurt anything the french drink wine all the time!

Thanks for reminding me of the healthy pregnancies that due occur with my situation.

yeah,  that is true about the French!  :)

I have just been slipping up on the coffee issue, too... I, usually do pretty good with all that they ask us to limit ourselves with, but coffee is my downfall.  My will power has been pretty good with the one cup rule, but I have been enjoying two cups for the last couple of days, aka, a week and a half, Ooops.  I better get it under control....  :s

I can totally relate!!! I honestly do not know if all these restrictions we put on ourselves while TTC are necessary. After following all directions to a T and having many failures, I've decided for myself that if the egg, sperm, & uterus are healthy, the embryo will be just fine, whether or not I've had an extra cup of coffee in the 2ww period or a beer with DH. I no longer restrict myself from moderate amts of caffeine & alcohol while we're in the TTC mode.  I feel so very lucky to have a DD & I will share that when we conceived our daughter (& I know this in hindsight).... i decided to just live my life & the 7 days after her actual conception, I went out to 2 dinners and one birthday party where I had at least 3 drinks at each event, & our DD turned out just fine.  I honestly think that moderation is fine and that the stress caused by trying to do everything perfectly may be harmful to us both physically & psychologically.

    Best of luck to you....

Me: 42, DH: 43. We are so grateful to have a 2yr old daughter, conceived naturally after 3 miscarriages & no treatments (our Dr. gave us 1 more month to try on our own before advacing to IVF, & we conceived her naturally in January 2010)! Trying since April 2011 without sucess....MD said we were both "fine" & that if it wasn't happening, it was a chromosomal issue. Finally started Follistim 225mcg injections with an Ovidrel trigger November 2012. Bleeding 11 days post Ovidrel on November 25th. Starting the whole lab/Ultrasound/Follistim cycle again on November 27th...

    Amalloy,

I know you are right, and thanks for reminding me of that.  This schedule just gets ya all stressed out while thinking that taking one extra sip or bite of whatever the 'no-no' is, is what keeps us from having our dream of a baby.  Then, in combination with my ripe age of 43 and of finding out abnormalities in the body during this process, just sent me over for a bit... Lol.

Now, since I have landed....just been breathing and thinking good thoughts...

Thanks again for the reminder and good wishes, I really needed them!  :)
