Today is my first work day not pumping, and I am a little sad (whodda thunk it?) and so I am making a list of all of the pros to not pumping. Feel free to join me
-I get all of my time back at work
-I don't have to carry my pump bag with me everywhere
-I don't have to wash my pump parts every night
Uh, help me out here, I'm sure there is more to be excited about!
Re: Pros to not pumping
I'm not done pumping yet.... but I can think of a few I'm looking forward
-Not having to replace membranes (since I have dropped them down the sink at work sooo many times)
-Not having my nips be super sensitive for at least 30 min after each session
-Eating lunch with my work friends
-Going for a walk on my lunch if I feel like it
-Not having to remember to put my milk in the fridge when I get home (I have left it out twice before and it sucked having to dump it)
My pumping time has become my me time at work. I bump, watch videos, and read. I think I will miss the little breaks, and then I will remember this list.
- I was happy that I no longer had to stress about my supply (I EP'd).
- It is amazing how much time I feel like I got back when I weaned.
It took me a few weeks before that lingering sadness finally went away.

I stopped pumping 2 weeks ago and I feel amazing! LOL
- I don't feel attached to it anymore
- I don't have to worry about spilling the milk
- I don't have to worry about getting the milk in the fridge/freezer on time
- I don't stress about my supply or sending enough with him to my MIL's house or my sisters...that was the major thing
- I pumped every single night. I would wait till about 10 PM to do it. If I did it earlier, I would barely pump anything. Now, I can relax after I put Jackson to bed, watch some TV with DH and then work out and shower and just chill out!
Congrats! Today is my 1st day going down to 1PPD. (I EP'ed)
Just wanted to say you did a great job + its very exciting to not carry the big bag around + work meetings around it.

Today is my first work day not pumping. I brought it with me though, just in case. I'm not going to miss packing up the bag every morning (starting next week, lol) and dragging it with me to and from work. However, I already miss the "me time" that pumping allowed me to have during the day.
CMD - now that you're down to 1 PPD, are you pumping in the am or at night? I'm looking to drop down to 1 PPD next week, and I'm not sure which one I'll be dropping. I'm thinking of dropping the night pump, mostly because I hate it, but also because if I'm gonna leak, I'd rather do it at home than at work.
And I agree - good job, ladies! To those who BF'd, and those who didnt. Raising babies is a tough job, and I think you're all doing great!
I dropped my night pumping session first, because I hated it the most. It was so nice to come home, wash and sterilize my pump and not have to get it back out until the next day.
We are still BF once in the morning and once at night, so that is nice. I feel like I get the best of both worlds for a little bit.
And I agree, good job ladies-pumping is hard work, as is BF. Now that I look back, it was a commitment that was totally worth it.
I am looking forward to eating lunch in the lunchroom again, now worrying about supply, being able to get work done during the school day, instead of just before or after, and having a bedtime routine that takes less than an hour.
How about not having to plan out clothes that are easy to pull up and pump in. Not having to wear a nursing bra or tank.
Also looking forward to when I don't have to wear pads. . . I've always been leaky.
FTW-I hadn't even thought about the clothes and nursing bras! So excited about that.
