Shy left ovary....cant see follies? grrrr...

good news: i have 15 follies and they are all ready to go! bad news: my left ovary is "hard to see" now and they couldnt count all the follies this time. said theres tissue in the way?? they didnt want to push down to much on it this morning while doing a follie check bc i was so uncomfortable. the RE says, we'll try to really get to this while youre asleep (at ER) but just giving you a heads up we might not be able to get to it" WTH? Thats where 9 of my 15 follies are....ugh. anyone else have this problem?
me 40, DH 39... FSH:8.6 AMH 2.3 AFC:15... DH: MF: sx for Double Varicocele, SA 45 mil, motil: 50%, morph 3%- "lazy swimmers!"... Me: All "normal" but aging eggs most likely... ;-/ DS: 4/29/05-7 yrs old MC 9 weeks: 9/21/11 TTC for 3 yrs...7/2012: 1st IUI: BFN 8/2012: 2nd IUI: BFN... Need a break already! IVF #1 in progress Jan 2013: Antagonist Prot.: Gonal F 300/Menopur 150 ER: 15 follies, 12 retrieved, 10 mature, 10 fertilized...grow embies grow! 1/8/13: BFN.

    Yes all the time!!  My left one too. It hides for some reason so the last two IVF cycles I have had, what I like to call, "The Case of the Disappearing and Reappearing Follicles" , LOL It all would depend on what tech I got that day if she could find the ovary or not plus I once had a fellow scan me this past cycle and she couldn't find it!!!  Come ER time though its never an issue, its usually a nice surprise because they retrieve more than they expect from the scans.

    i know!! ive had everything from 15 follies to 9! really depends on the RE.

    One of mine liked to occasionally be shy for monitoring but they had me push on my abdomen. Never affected my er as far as i know. Good luck!

    Me:29 DH:29  TTC since 1/11 Dx: unexplained IF/early DOR/immune issues 
    Feb'12- July'12-testing(all clear minus slight arcuate ute), 3 IUI with clomid all BFN
    8/30IVF#1 Antagonist protocol- ER 9/11-8R, 7M, 5F. 
    ET 9/14 2 embies transferred. 1 10cell Grade 4, 1 8cell Grade 4. No frosties. BFN
    IVF#2 Antagonist protocol plus baby aspirin- ER 12/5-16R, 12M, 8F!
    ET 12/10 5dt! 1 fully expanded blast & 1 early blast. No frosties. BFN
    3/13 hysteroscopy & polypectomy, Consulted w Dr. Kwak-Kim.

    My right one is shy.  That is the tube that is completely messed up and the dr thinks that whatever damaged the tube is what is moving that ovary.  It tends to hide behind the uterus.  So for the retreival he had to go through the uterus to get to that one.  It started to twinge a little bit so they gave me some of anestesia.  No big deal.  Good luck!

    Yes my left does not produce as many follies but they always have trouble to monitor it because it sits right on top of my uterus. It hurts every time they have to dig around up there with the magic wand!

    MINI IVF Oct.2012  Cancelled 10-27-12
    Ivf #3 Antagonist Protocol April 2013
    Shared cycle..Donor cycled in July Got 12 eggs 9 fertilized and 8 frozen!!
    DE FET #1 Sept. 3rd 2013 FIRST BFP EVER 5dp5dt
    miscarried Sept 24th at 5 weeks 5 days
    Etopic  D&C and hysterscopy Nov 5 2013
    dx with pre genetic blood clotting dec 2013
    FET #2 Jan 31st  2014 
    Miscarried for a second time again at 5 weeks 5 days
    Currently fostering to adopt an amazing little 1 year old boy..P.J!
