I got up to use the restroom and BAM he dropped. Craziest feeling ever. Now I've been sick all morning and having contractions. My doctor says I don't NEED to come into L&D.
I'm a bit worried, but if he says I don't need to I shouldn't, right?
i'm sure after telling your doc how often your contractions were and for what period of time, he made the right decision. If they change (he probably told you the frequency or force they need to be for a call back) call back and double check.
I would say that most doctors are pretty careful and cautious about that sort of thing, so the fact that he didn't tell you to go in is a good sign that it's probably okay. Sounds like he is trying to save you a time and money that you would spend in LD.
Now, that being said, if you are super worried/concerned then there is no shame and going and getting checked out. You can put a cost on peace of mind.

Im sure that you know this, but remember your "5-1-1"! My doctor told me that I should labor at home as long as I can (its probably alot more comfortable in your own environment. Do things like take a walk, a shower, a bath, whatever relaxes you!) When you start having contractions 5 minutes apart, that last for 1 minute each, for a consistant hour is when its time to go. In the mean time try to relax and not stress, let your body guide you, and if that means you really feel the need to go in than listen.
