Mass folks...taking a poll.....if you get a chance can you answer the following questions?
Where are you doing your cycles?
What did you think of the experience? Positive/negative feedback?
Ultimate results?
What ins co do you have and what did it cover?
We are using Mass General...overall I am satisfied so far. Not a lot of hand holding, very assembly line but they have great stats for women over 35. Also they are very conservative--goal is always one baby. (Id love to have twins :-) ) We have Harvard Pilgrim and they cover 6 IVF lifetime 100% and all meds.
Re: Anyone in Mass?

Fertility Solutions
What did you think of the experience? Positive/negative feedback?
I love, love, love them. I was wary of some "baby factory"/"assembly line" comments I read online about some other local fertility clinics, and I really didn't want that kind of experience. I have only read good things about FS, and I like that it is a smaller practice, all female doctors, and they make a big deal about being personal and patient-centered. I live right near another fertility clinic and had to drive a little bit out of the way to go to FS but I have never regretted it.
Ultimate results?
I had a great IVF cycle and a BFP, but it was a blighted ovum which we discovered around 8w. I have 5 frosties though and will be doing a FET in March.
What ins co do you have and what did it cover?
I have BCBS, and it covered everything. I paid $80 in co-pays for drugs, that was it. That said, not all BCBS plans will cover this much. I am lucky.
9 IUIs = 9 BFNs
IVF October 2012: 22 eggs retrieved, 17 fertilized, 5 frozen

Karyotyping: normal ~ RPL Testing: normal ~ Hysteroscopy: normal
FET #2: 1 blast transferred 10/25; BFP 10/31!

Tufts medical
What did you think of the experience? Positive/negative feedback?
I absolutely love love love our clinic!!! They get invested in you without it being too much. I have gotten very close with much of their staff and love our dr. They are very supportive of our decisions either way when it comes to certain things. I don't feel like just another number ever.
Ultimate results?
We did 4 Ivf cycles with DH sperm knowing the quality was very poor. We decided to move onto dIUI and we did it OOP in case we want to go back to trying to use DH frozen sperm. I am currently 14w.
What ins co do you have and what did it cover?
We also have BCBS and ours covers everything except a copay for meds and if we have meetings with the dr we pay a copay then.
3rd cycles clomid + Ovidrel = BFN
4th cycles letrozole/Ovidrel + IUI = BFN
IVF #1 = BFP! Twins due 2/5/2014
Boston IVF. Our doctor monitoring are at the Quincy office. We'll go to the Waltham office for ER/ET.
We also have a urologist for MFI out of Boston Medical.
What did you think of the experience?
Great so far. They're super responsive, results are quick. My nurses have been awesome. I love the online portal. Very personal, I don't feel like a number at all.
Ultimate results?
I start injections for our first round of IVF with ICSI next Saturday. We started with them more than a year ago, but spent time trying to repair our MFI before cycling so there was a long break before we started. DH had surgery last April with the urologist but it wasn't successful.
What ins co do you have and what did it cover?
BCBS here too. Once we meet our deductible it covers everything except copays for up to 6 IVF cycles per live birth. We just spent 130 on copays for the meds. It is great coverage I'm thankful for it, but they have been a complete pain in the ss to deal with.
**Lurker from MA here, ticker warning**
Where are you doing your cycles? We cycled with RS.C in Lexing.ton. If we ever decide to go back for more, we will cycle there again.
What did you think of the experience? We loved it. They are very patient centered, easy to get ahold of, always took the time to answer questions and explain results/ procedures/ etc. We were with Dr. Pau.li and loved him.
Ultimate results? I am currently pregnant with triplets. We did a 3-day transfer of 2 embies and one split. The cycle before we did the same thing for a BFN.
What ins co do you have and what did it cover? United. It covered everything with standard copays/ deductables and no upper limit. Our testing/ IUI/ 2 IVF cycles/ meds cost us about $4k out of pocket.
Dx DOR (AMH .49), Stage 3/4 Endo, Septate Uterus
After 2 years, numerous tests, abdonimal surgery, and 2 IVF cycles, we are so grateful to be expecting.
Transferred 2 "perfect" 8-cell embies 6/12. Beta 1 6/25: 472! Beta 2 6/27: 1055!
First u/s shows TRIPLETS! WHAT?!?! Both embies stuck and one split. OMG
Levi, Henry, and Amelia were born healthy at 34w3d.

I was at Boston IVF, and while I really liked me RE there, we were dealing with multiple issues PGD, MFI and we backed out before we even began treatment because we felt they were very disorganized and I wasn't crazy about the bedside manner there, definitely felt like I was just a number.
We moved onto MGH, did 3 IVF cycles, 1st was cancelled due to poor response. Felt like I was constantly fighting to get to retrieval, cancellation was discussed for all 3 attempts. We only made it to transfer once due to PGD results, bfn. I had a spontaneous pregnancy the month after our failed transfer, resulted in early m/c. We left after that. Needless to say, we were not thrilled with our experience there, but there were some amazing nurses there.
We moved onto R.SC and its been a lot better. I really like everyone there. I don't feel like I'm bothering anyone and I feel they have been compassionate. I've had 2 IVFs, only made it to transfer once with a 2dt of a poor embie bfn. I've also done 2DIUs there, both bfn. We are moving onto DE DS IVF next.
I have Tufts, they cover 6 IVF cycles, And the 2 DIUIs I've had. It is always a pain in the a getting reimbursed, but I feel I can't complain because we are fortunate enough to have insurance that covers IF so much.
Me (32) DOR, elevated NK Cells/ 2 copies of MTHFR mutation/ MH (35) azoo/high DFI (TTC#1 since 2009)

New RE, additional testing reveals elevated NK Cells
FET of 1 day 5 blast (RE recommends transferring 1 due to elevated NK cells) with lovenox, steroids & intralipids in October
What did you think of the experience? Positive/negative feedback? So far so good! Like PP said they are based out of Lexington but we've been able to do 99 of testing and such out of a satellite office which is great. My nurses have been helpful and caring. The only thing that kind of stinks but isn't a huge deal is that it's very rare a "live" person will answer when I call. You leave a message and your call is returned by a nurse later that day. I'm sure this is normal for larger clinics, but feels a little like phone tag sometimes.
Ultimate results? Currently on BCP for IVF 1.
What ins co do you have and what did it cover? I have Tufts. Customer service is crappy but they have covered all testing and will cover 6 IVF cycles. The majority of my meds were covered, we owed 275 for everything. I can't complain.
Good luck to everyone!

What did you think of the experience? Positive/negative feedback? They've been wonderful. Seriously. I love them there. Like a PP, we have Dr. Pauli and he's excellent.
Ultimate results? All 3 IUIs were BFNs; we're currently in the middle of IVF#1
What ins co do you have and what did it cover? We have Fallon. It covers 6 IVFs 100%. The only thing we have had to pay is copays for stuff. Literally this IVF cycle cost us $105 OOP. We are very blessed.

How was your experience with the ER and ET? A little nervous about that. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but was your DH/SO allowed in the room for the transfer?

We're at Newton Wellesley/Brigham with Partners Reproductive Medicine.
So far, I guess it's fine, although obviously no ultimate results to back that up... There have been a couple of meetings with our doctor that I have felt she's been a little patronizing/condescending but I feel confident in her skills and the course of action that we've been taking. The office has been good to work with, the nurses are very very responsive and take the time to explain things well.
We have Cigna and so far it's covered everything and has an unlimited lifetime maximum..we've paid copays and for a small portion of the meds (which is through MedCo), but it's been kind of amazing and we feel so so thankful.

Hey...I've been looking for you around here! (And maybe you've been active but just not in the threads I've been reading). How are things going with the FET?
9 IUIs = 9 BFNs
IVF October 2012: 22 eggs retrieved, 17 fertilized, 5 frozen
ET #1: 1 blast = BFP; Blighted ovum discovered at 7w5d; D&E
FET #1: 1 blast = BFP; Missed m/c discovered at 9w5d; D&E
Karyotyping: normal ~ RPL Testing: normal ~ Hysteroscopy: normal
FET #2: 1 blast transferred 10/25; BFP 10/31!
EDD 7/13/14 ~ Induced at 37w4d due to pre-eclampsia ~ Born on 6/28/14
*Everyone welcome*
Hey! I took a month+ off because after the BFN I was not doing well at all. But FET is officially scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, so we'll see how it goes, I guess. Still only transferring 1 since while I want to transfer 2, I know logically it's not the best choice for us to have twins. Sooo...hopefully this is our cycle?
How are you doing??

Well...I can totally identify with the not doing well at all part. I'm OK now but things were pretty bad for a while there and I'm still kind of bitter. My RE benched me until my 2nd period after D&E, and I'm still waiting for my 1st period after D&E. I'm frustrated. I want to get going. We're looking at probably March for the FET.
So sorry about the BFN. I hate that we're both still here and I hope we won't be for too long! I'll keep everything crossed for your FET. Keep us posted!

Sucks. I'm so sorry about your last cycle. I was so psyched for your BFP
( I hope that your next FET goes awesome!! It does suck that we're both still here. I am SO looking forward to not being here. (with all due respect to the IF board in general :op )
Thanks, the FET yesterday went pretty well. I felt way more relaxed than with the ET last time at least. So we'll find the 2/4 how it went!!
