Not sure if this has been discussed or not..
Do you still have LO in the middle of the backseat? LO is in a convertible and has been in the middle until last week. I went shopping with a friend and her LO and placed her by the window.
Our car only has latch on the outside seats not the middle and I found it so much easier than using the seatbelt, lol. (I will never understand why car makers do not put latch in the middle when it's the safest place for a baby..).
Anyways, her seat is currently by the window and still rear facing. So just curious what you all are doing and what is recommended?
Re: Car seat placement.
Aiden is behind the driver's seat. We have an Acadia and it has three rows of seating, the middle row has two outside seats so that we can easily access the third row. It has the latch system which is so easy, I love our car!

Same thing (same car) but different seat. Ours is behind the passanger seat in the Acadia...also love my car!
your Nissan has latch in the middle? We had an Xtera and now an armada and neither one had latch in the middle, just on the sides...
good to know, thanks!

Not to be a downer, but no, it doesn't. I had an '06 Altima too, and I just pulled this out of the owner's maunal, "Do not secure a child restraint in the center rear seating position using the LATCH system anchors. The child restraint will not be secured properly." (it is in the Warning section on page 1-24 of the book.)
It has four LATCH anchors, one set on each side. It is not safe to use the anchors that are designed for the sides if you put the seat in the middle. You are essentially using one from each. If you are going to keep your LO in the middle of the Altima, use the seatbelt.
This was one thing DH and I looked into very carefully when we installed the seat.
I have an SUV with captains chairs so there is no real "middle" unless you count the 3rd row and we won't do carseats back there unless we have to. So my kiddos are on either side - my oldest DS behind the driver seat and the baby behind the passenger. My oldest is FF and the baby is RF and will be until he outgrows the RF measurements of his seat. This is the vehicle I drive so it works best.
In my H's truck we put the baby in the middle RF and our oldest son is in a 5 point harness to booster seat so it is FF and behind the passenger so he has room for his legs and isn't kicking the seat when he wiggles.
