Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Has your LO had a reaction to any food?

I think Hannah had a reaction to some hummus. I think it was just a contact reaction and it was very mild and faded within a couple hours. I looked at the ingredients list and saw sesame seed listed so I'm thinking that might be the culprit. Hopefully it's something she will outgrow over time since it was such a mild reaction.

  • I've heard some babies can be sensitive to sesame, but was there lemon juice or citric acid in the hummus? Those could also be candidates. The only way you would know would be to test each ingredient one at a time ... you could try sesame with your LO at a later date with tahini or sesame oil, since those would be single-ingredient foods.

DS has not done very well with spinach and apples. He had a mild rash around his mouth where the spinach got on his face, so I'm waiting a few months before trying that again. Apples just have him really bad gas.

  • DD loves avocado but it doesn't agree with her poor little bottom - worst rash she's had to date, both times we tried it.Tongue Tied
  • C gets mild hives and super fussy when I give her sweet potatoes or tomatoes, so we cut those out.  She also pukes out her nose when pooping if we give her those.
